Mushrooms. There are a lot of good, simple recipes out there. Marinated, sauteed, baked, etc. It depends on what you like.

These win every time. Surprisingly, they aren't really that hot. I prefer hot sausage to spice them up a bit and a slice of pre cooked bacon on top.

If you like foods that pack a bit of a punch, you’ll love these jalapeno poppers filled with sausage and cheese. This is one of my favorite recipes for parties. —Rachel Oswald, Greenville, Michigan

Pretty good recipe, however, I reduce the amount of pickled Jalapenos to 1/4 cup minced fine, and I use regular Monetary Jack. (Depends how hot you like it and if you mind the heat overpowering the crab)

One of my go-to’s is taco dip. Brown 1 lb of ground beef, drain, add half a packet of taco seasoning. In a casserole dish, combine 1 package of softened cream cheese, small container of sour cream and the rest of the taco seasoning. Smooth evenly on the bottom of the dish. Top with seasoned beef. Add layer of salsa. Top with shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) and chopped lettuce. Serve with tortilla chips.

Or, you can go with the Bluth Family Cornballer, but it may end up like this:

A crowd favorite of mine is meatball sliders.
Do meatballs with a nice red sauce, in a slow cooker.
Put said meatball on Kings Hawaiian roll

if you want to really wow them, how about some hot crab dip? lots of variations out there, here is one....
Ingredients
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 3 cans (6 ounces each) lump crabmeat, drained
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • Assorted crackers
mix it all together, heat it for around 30-40 minutes, sprinkle a little old bay on it when it comes out!! serve with crackers, or warm bread.

We make a version these at home sometimes with Hungarian wax peppers. I put marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese on top of mine along with the sausage stuffing.

Bacon wrapped pineapple chunks or Bacon wrapped scallops.

Fresh pineapple cut up with marichino cherries toothpicked in. Apparently they are called pineapple boats.

Bacon wrapped tater tots are also an easy and popular. I dice up some smoked gouda and push it into the tot before wrapping it in bacon. There's never any left at the end of a party.

No problem!! Triscuit rye crackers or Pepperidge Farm Pumpernickel Sticks? Oh I forgot we have Utz Pub sticks too! What, no Buff-a-Que wings?

Onion Pretzels.

1 LB. Hard Broken Pretzel Pieces
Melt 2 Sticks of Butter and mix with 1 pack of Lipton Onion Soup Mix.
Add a little Cayenne pepper if you like.

Coat the pretzels with the butter/soup mix
Place on a cookie sheet and back at 275 for 30 minutes.

Baguette, goat cheese, hot pepper jelly, cured meat of choice (soprasetta, salami, pepperoni, jamon serrano). Slice bread, arrange everything else neatly on platter. Put out a couple bowls for nuts/dried fruit. Serve, enjoy.
