They played their hearts out but came up short. Need an elite pass rusher and hopefully Simmons and Matos fit the bill. A great pass rush makes the back 7 look really good even if they're not.
Cabinda and Smith are a step slow in their drops. Athletic mlb needed. DB's with coverage skills are a must. I believe the defense will be one if not the best in the BIG next season. But to hang with the really elite teams we need more talent. I love where the program is headed though. It's just a matter of time. The SC offense may be the best in the country right now. They lack a power running game but Darnold is so damn good you just need a few runs to keep the defense honest.
