Don't know the listings, but if it's not WPVI (Philly) or WABC (NYC) and you're not a FIOS subscriber, you're safe.

Where did you hear this? It's listed on the channel guide where I'm at now near the Scranton area.
Watching newswatch 16 this morning it was scrolled across the bottom of the screen while Snedeker was giving the weather.....something about a contract with Spectrum sports...ugh

Ugh. Guess I'll have to stream it from the ESPN app with my Roku.

Per the WNEP website:

Spectrum may deny you access to WNEP on their cable system on January 1, when its contract with us expires. Our parent company, Tribune Media, is doing all it can to ensure this doesn’t happen, but Spectrum is stalling in reaching a new agreement.

Below are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s), with answers, that can clarify the risk of this potential loss of WNEP’s programming and the steps being taken to prevent that from happening.

FAQ’s
1. What’s going on?
WNEP and Spectrum must renew the contract that allows the cable company to send our programming to you. WNEP has presented our proposal for fair value compensation, based on the value our programming brings you here in Scranton. If WNEP and Spectrum cannot agree on a new contract before January 1, 2019, subscribers like you will lose the programming WNEP provides.

2. What about the network programming WNEP carries?
That too. Sports, prime time, morning shows, as well as our local news and our own shows. All our programming will be affected.

3. What can I do?
We value your loyalty as a WNEP viewer, and we feel it’s important to make you aware of this situation. You pay to receive our programming and you should know of any chance that may be interrupted. Let Spectrum know you don’t want to lose WNEP by emailing them or calling them at 855-YES-WNEP

It’s been alll over the news. Verizon Fios & Disney are duking it out. ESPN wants a large increase & Verizon is holding firm. Bad timing. I’ve scouted out friends that have Directv for Tuesday. Mother effers!!!

So if I have Direct TV I am good to go?

If you’re within broadcast distance of their transmission towers you can hook up an antenna to pick up their signal on a digital tv with a tuner.
I have an old antenna in my attic from when I didn’t have cable and I can pick up local stations on my tv.

Thought the same thing, but it looks like a variation with different actors.

True. Is this not an over the air station? It is the ABC affiliate for NEPA and you should be able to get it with an antenna. I should also be broadcast in HD if I’m not mistaken. I’ve never heard of a cable carrier not broadcasting the main broadcast network affiliates. Strange.

Ugh they are owned by tribune. So unless you have spectrum as your provider (service electric, blue ridge and comcast are the guys I know of in NEPA) you have nothing to worry about.
I watched their news today. They have multiple people in Florida and have a game preview they are advertising. why would they do that if they wouldn't air the game
