Jason later said the school is in a coastal state.
That only eliminates TN.
Any guesses? GaTech?

NAIA D1?Didn't check but I assume that is not a D1 school since I've never heard of them.
There’s no naia divisions in wrestling I think that’s just basketballNAIA D1?
Big South Conference, Presbyterian College moved to D1 in 2007. Think Gardner-Webb, VMI, etc.Didn't check but I assume that is not a D1 school since I've never heard of them.

You're thinking of the Southern Conference (SoCon), that has the following in Wrestling programs (conglomeration of a few conferences, like the Big12):Big South Conference, Presbyterian College moved to D1 in 2007. Think Gardner-Webb, VMI, etc.
Actually, I'm not thinking that at all. The reference to Gardner-Webb and VMI was for NoVa to think about small schools that have D1 Wrestling programs. Campbell and Gardner-Webb, now hopefully Presbyterian, are permanent members of the BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE. With currently only two (2) D1 wrestling teams in Big South, both Campbell and Gardner-Webb wrestle in the Southern Conference. Otherwise, the need for 6 teams (required by the NCAA for automatic berths at each weight) isn't met, and the chances for NCAA qualifiers is diminished. Maybe I didn't explain it well enough...you'll just have to take my word that I knew what I was saying. You're thinking of the Southern Conference (SoCon), that has the following in Wrestling programs (conglomeration of a few conferences, like the Big12):
Appalachian State (Sun Belt)

Chattanooga (Southern Conference)
Davidson (A10)

SIUE (Ohio Valley)
The Citadel (Southern Conference)
VMI (Southern Conference)
Presbyterian is in the Big South Conference in other sports, but will probably join the SoCon (like Campbell and Gardner-Webb).
Members of the Big South Conference are:
bringing clemson back would be cool.
Presbyterian is a relatively small school, but they could opt for Div 1 in wrestling if they chose. Would be a surprise, since Newberry is comparably-sized, nearby and Div 2 ( a Div 2 power--was ranked 5th a couple of years ago). Many, many years ago we were snowed in at Presbyterian College for 2 days in March!! You don't often get snowed in in South Carolina in any month, much less March! That was over 40 years ago!Didn't check but I assume that is not a D1 school since I've never heard of them.
You could throw in Kentucky, too! If you go back far enough, Florida and Alabama used to have wrestling programs....would be great to bring back wrestling at Clemson, Syracuse, Auburn, and LSU...
... Florida and Texas high school wrestling is on the upswing...
Fresno State is in, but Cal Baptist? Thought they were D2.Think that goes up to 77 this year? Fresno and Cal Baptist join - Boise leaves. Either way, point taken.
Wrestling remains the sport a high school athlete is least probable to compete at next level --- only 2.8 probability across all NCAA divisions. In comparison, football is 6.8%.
The Cal Baptist website says they are going D1 next year

They have Stanford, Bakersfield and Cliff Keen on the schedule this year.
Click on the link in the post from Nitinsc that you quoted. It's there in the second paragraph on front page.I don't see anything on their website about going D1 and their schedule has them going to the D2 Super Regional and D2 NCAA championships at the end of the season. See link.

Presbyterian is a Division I school in all sports, so they'd have to go D-1 in wrestling. As far as saying they are a "comparatively" small school, that's putting it mildly. There are 351 all-sports Division I institutions. No prizes for guessing where Presbyterian ranks of those in terms of enrollment.Presbyterian is a relatively small school, but they could opt for Div 1 in wrestling if they chose. Thanks, SHP, for the info on Presbyterian being D-1 in all sports. I didn't know that and it's a real surprise! PSU used to play them in tennis during the spring break trip south, but I didn't know they were D-1. Are there any financial advantages, disadvantages for being D-1?Presbyterian is a Division I school in all sports, so they'd have to go D-1 in wrestling. There's better people to ask than me, but one thing I can think of is revenue sharing from the NCAA. http://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/2017NCAA_DivisionI_RevenueDistributionPlan_20170426.pdfThanks, SHP, for the info on Presbyterian being D-1 in all sports.
