Cornell lawyers put a stop to PDIII going to Iowa. Winning four titles at four different weights in the same year would have made Dake’s feat less spectacular
Isn't this Lee's junior year? If so then next year will be his senior year so no red shirt possibility in 2022 right

Nick Lee will be the returning undefeated NCAA champion next year. He won’t red shirt and he won’t go 149. He will be the 141 next year.
I recall watching a Flo interview with Downey and Mark Bader last year where Downey said ultimately it was Tom Brands who put a stop to his transfer to Iowa. He said he worked hard completing his degree online to become eligible to transfer but ultimately Brands didn't think he was a team fit. I believe he said something along the lines of Brands called him into his office and said he was too much of a lone wolf and didn't want to be part of the pack.Yes -- NCAA limits athletes to attending 2 D1 programs. That's why a number of guys go to a lower division school as a stopgap.
That's part of what tripped up Downey going to Iowa -- he had already been at Nebraska and Iowa State.
Of course, being the NCAA, there are likely exceptions and waivers that nobody understands even after being approved or rejected.
