My Buckeye buddy at the gym: “It never ceases to amaze how stupid NFL players can be.”

Lawrence will get the horns here, but the Giants had many shots to put the game away. That dropped deep TD pass also comes to mind.It was Dexter Lawrence, 1st round draft choice in 2019 out of Clemson. It's not like he was trying some great leap (Derek Cameron Wake of PSU and the Dolphins comes to mind) to block the kick; he was playing in the middle of the line, went low with no real hope of blocking the kick, but was definitely off-side. Incredible blunder.
agreed though some dont think he was offsides, just quicker than the rest...Lawrence will get the horns here, but the Giants had many shots to put the game away. That dropped deep TD pass also comes to mind.

Was Dexter Lawrence offside?
Washington kicker Dustin Hopkins got a second chance to win the game on Thursday night after Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence jumped offside on a 48-yard field goal attempt that went wide right.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com

I thought the same thing. It wasn’t an easy catch. The receiver could have launched himself but it was pretty much straight over his head. Yeah, on Jones.I blame Jones on the dropped TD pass. He could have took a little off the ball and floated it to him. Nobody was within 15 yards and the ball hit one out stretched hand. It would have been a spectacular catch if he did, but I found it odd neither commentator said anything about Jones.

I didn’t catch the second half (night games mess with my beauty sleep) and only this morning realized how amazingly well the Giants managed to give the game away. (Yes, it was holding on that long TD run by Jones.)
I’m able to totally tune out the talking heads. It’s a luxury to be able to do this, absolutely. I might or might not read as much bullshit as the average BWI Joe Blow, but I definitely hear less.Yes, I didn't quite understand why they kept saying "I don't see much in the way of holding here" while his hands clearly are jerking the DB around the neck.
Another pass play later, the CB was holding the WRs arm and they were acting like it was good coverage. Clearly DPI, I think it was Golladay trying to make the catch.
Has to be something to do with not criticizing the refs. No way around it.
My guess it is comes down to the old saying that holding could be called on every play. In that case it should only be called if it’s egregious and compared to some of the other plays I saw in this game, that wasn’t and it cost a team a TD.Yes, I didn't quite understand why they kept saying "I don't see much in the way of holding here" while his hands clearly are jerking the DB around the neck.
