Glad he wasn't reprimanded because it was true. I just wish I could be a 4th string walk on with nothing to lose and get close to Witvoet or O'Neil or one of their ilk with audio running and really light into them - that they are either incompetent, getting paid off like Donaghy, or biased.
I think McGloin, Mauti, ARob, and BOB need to be thankful for each other
and to some degree Zwinak. Take one of these players and leaders out of the equation, and not only would their season have blown up, but the upswing in recruiting would have been lessened.
McGloin continues to surprise, which at this point shouldn't be surprising. I wish he would get back to Penn State and coach Hack on the short pass.

MM sure as hell wasn't going to be as good under Jay. We are incredibly lucky to have Had BOB and MM.McGloin was PSU's starter before FLO ever entered the equation. Too funny that the same posters who praise FLO in regards to McGloin are largely the same know-nothing @ssholes who critisized Paterno daily for playing talentless, walk-on "McMoxie" over Bolden! And when asked why he was starting McGloin and JVP stated because he won the job and is the best QB on our team, these same know-it-alls despite never having even coached a Little Gridders team, let alone be the winningest coach in NCAA Major College history, said that Paterno was full of $hit as usual....didn't know what he was doing......and it was ridiculous to start McGloin on a FBS team as he wasn't even a legit DII player.....blah, blah, blah. But now all the sudden, the ever brilliant FLO recognized McGloin's talent??? LMFAO at these know-nothing, think they know everything, raging jack-wagon @sshats.
God damn, Bushwood, it was a nice thread and damn, why ruin a really nice, inspiring thing? Is it a crime to be wrong about something and eventually see the light? I was one of them, and I got egg on my face, my problem. You're gonna give me crap over this? Can't you just let us fess up that we were wrong about the guy and cheer for him now? Flyin" Lyin" O'Brien
Yeah, seen it plenty of times here. Feelings are strong, we get a thread or so a month on this.I've never heard that reference to OB before. Frankly, I think it's not only insulting but also inaccurate. OB was the right coach at the right time for us. He's largely responsible for holding this program together at it's most perilous time. Perhaps his departure to Houston could have been handled better, but OB was always up-front with his players that his dream job was as an NFL head coach. The time frame between the end of a season and the LOI date is when things get crazy for all CFB teams and things happen quickly. It's never smooth when one coaching staff departs. Anybody who uses a childish, idiotic reference like this needs to look at the overall picture and grow-up.

It's Bushwood's coinage and be prepared for his onslaught. Shocking as it may seem, he has a strong and unswerving opinion about this. O'Brien was the right man at the right time for Penn State. He made no bones about having NFL aspirations and got a good NFL job. PSU got a replacement whose ambition was to coach the Nittany Lions. Fortunately, Coach Franklin was and is a recruiting animal and he hit the ground running on that aspect of the job. There are few who would have been able to make the transition so smoothly. Sounds good to me. I like Coach Franklin and his staff too. No need to argue about any of this.I've never heard that reference to OB before. I can't look at Frank Booth without laughing. I knew a guy who did a perfect imitation of him in the scene from which your sig pic comes.Matt is always an injury away from starting. This is the NFL and QB's drop occasionally. I don't know the quality of Oakland's OL.

I was referring to his bye-week. I'm looking for whatever it takes to get Hack and/or Donovan to stop ignoring the short pass in their play calling.Hackenberg will be fine. McGloin is too busy being a good NFL player to coach at Penn State.
Del Rio is a terrible HC. I was in Jacksonville the years he was HC for the Jaguars. He is more of a defensive minded guy, but doesn't take an active role in anything. He wouldn't recognize MM's talent if he tripped over it, like he did last night.10-11 for 104 yards. 1 td, 0 picks.

Crediting Matt McGloin to FLO is ridiculous - especially by the very same people who were critical of Paterno for "starting a walk-on who wouldn't even be starting for a DII team" over their beloved highly recruited Bolden and then Jones. Too funny that these same @ssholes now want to credit FLO for seeing great talent in McGloin when the FACT IS that FLO INHERITED McGloin as a starter!!! Too funny that these same @ssholes praise FLO and credit him with identifying McGloin as a talent at QB....just LMFAO at the know-it-all Paterno-hater, FLO praisers.
Raiders 9-7?? With MM? Carr goes further? Are we following the same NFL? Ponder has a media wife. That's all he has.

It maybe beyond your grasp, but it is possible to appreciate O'Brien for what he did for the program and at the same time admire Paterno for all he did for the football program and the University. Being grateful that BOB played a key role in getting us through the worst of the sanctions and acknowledging what a great job he did in coaching up MM (to a record senior year) and Hack to a terrific freshman season is not disrespectful to Paterno. But here you are again with a childish, name calling tantrum once again that had nothing to do with the original post. Who is the @sshole?
