NFL Draft thread, all teams / "fans" welcome....

Browns were having a great draft until that pick--don't get it.
I would have taken Saunders over Gabriel because of size and arm. Saunders needs to go to a team as a back up to get rid of some of his bad habits. Saban mentioned while under pressure spinning into the edge rushers and moving backwards taking longer sacks instead of shorter ones. His OL was not good so he was out of his norm as a pocket passer,; is not a scrambler/creator.

Howard or Ewers would have been better. I just don't see Gabriel as an NFL QB. He's a camp arm

The fall of Sanders has shocked me. There must be more to this story. His dad should have built a better line as he was always on the run and took too many sacks, perhaps the largest problem.

No one seems to be trying to trade up big to take Sanders. Kiper must be smarter than all the leagues GM's........

On the other hand the GM's/Coaches actually run their teams and get paid handsomely for doing so, and the only thing Kiper has ever run is his mouth....
Kipper is paid handsomely as well.

I’m a draft nut. Absolutely love it. Do a ton of research each year, watch the combine, listen to countless podcasts, etc.

As an Eagles fan, watching us sit at 64 and not trading up to get Trey Amos was frustrating. We will be playing Dart 2x per year, and Amos knows his tendencies. We needed a CB2 that can play every down (Ringo ain’t it) and Amos was the guy. CBs were falling to us, we just had to move up a bit. There were several trading partners there for us, particularly DEN and LV. Then he was taken by division rival WASH 3 picks ahead of us.

Campbell is a fun pick, but the injuries worry me and LB wasn’t a major position of need. Emmanwori here would’ve made sense. Also, I would have rather had Watts over Makuba.

Feels like we are getting out hustled in this draft and I don’t like it. Our division is getting a lot better with their picks. Howie had had some great drafts these past two years, but every so often he thinks he is the smartest guy around and he does some dumb sh*t.

Hoping we trade some of these picks for veteran players. There’s also some good edge and PLENTY of DT talent available. I don’t love what’s left at other positions of need like CB, TE, or IOL. We better get after it today.

I love the Eagles draft...even as a Steelers fan I truly believe Philly does things as well if not better than anyone. I'd trust the process.

Kind of like the Lions...I dont love their draft but they've earned trust at this point even when they do something I think is wrong.

No wonder this brat isn’t drafted

I’ve read that nobody wants his dad criticizing how he is being used in the media. Plus, his dad has had coaching offers so there is concern dad will replace a teams HC with him. To much risk to get a father/son duo that is prone to pop off in the media.

Agreed--they did everything wrong
Prime rambled nonsense that their were teams he wouldn't let Jr play for
Jr was cocky (not confident) in every interview he had
Allegedly his interviewed poorly--no different than any other job--your potential future boss isn't going to hire you if they don't think they can work with you

We all know how this would have gone. Just like when Jr fell out of the first round and Prime rambled about how it wasn't right he'd be doing the same thing when his kid lost a starting job to Fields, Flacco (who Prime as bashed), Rudolph/Rodgers, etc. You want a kid that's going to come in and wants to compete--he doesn't. He expects things to be handed to him.

He doesn't help that his dad has been his coach for his entire college career.

There's red flag all over the place and that's before we start talking about his competition level and lack of arm strength.

Selfishly, I'm glad Allar came back but i'm 100% convinced he'd have gone to the Saints at 9 or the Giants would have traded back in for him. Hopefully he has a great year and doesn't regret that decision.

Just a guess, but maybe many NFL teams don't want to deal with Dad ?

True. True much as I did not like that show at Colorado, I still thought Sanders was a second or third round pick. I do not like “dad,” who is a phony that said God placed him at Jackson St…. until Colorado gave him more money.

Imagine him as a backup to Aaron Rodgers and Rodgers struggles first few games. Pappy would be going crazy. Then you put in SubPrime and he doesn’t look good…..then you have a total train wreck.

An entire season of terrible negative vibes.

Even worse--imagine him not starting over Mason Rudolph or Justin Fields or Will Levis or Russ Wilson--there's a reason no one is taking him--it's not all his fault but if you take all the benefits to fame you have to deal with the negative.

Love the athletic ability of Ty Robinson, the UN DT the Iggles took in the 4th. Off the charts athleticism and really good production last year

He is still talking about the 5th round pick 20+ minutes and multiple picks later. This is amusing in its own right. No sign of letting up either.
Funny as hell. Three picks went by as he slobbered on. The other guys were getting tired of it.

When he said the NFL had no clue on how to evaluate a QB I was hoping one of the guys would say ‘Show your top five QBs for every draft in the last 30 yrs and let’s see how you did’.

I almost never watch the draft beyond top 10-15 picks. I don’t know or care about 90% of the players and the talking heads along with the over-the-top hype are annoying as hell.

But watching Mr All Knowing Expert on Everything Mel Kiper with a terminal case of the vapors has been priceless.

Most enjoyable draft ever!
