CP said on FRL today that he heard rumors a couple weeks ago that PSU and/or Nick Lee was looking into enrolling this semester and wrestling, presumably at 133 for Cortez. Anyone else hear any noise about this?

Hearing the same thing. It is in play....as a possibility.
Did CP mention a source?
What's your source?

This sounds a lot like something that was spitballed on a message board, that got promoted to a "rumor."
Are you trying to say that a small handful of anxious people tried to conceive of every possible way to tinker with the PSU lineup, posted it on a message board, and it became established rumor? No matter how short-sighted or bizarre? No matter the track record and credentials of the coaching staff, which has its own established plan?
And did spyker actually hear it from 21?His source is spyker and CP. CP's source is Willie. After all, that is what a rumor is, right?
Well that's how I start my rumors. If you know a better way I'm all ears. Are you trying to say that a small handful of anxious people tried to conceive of every possible way to tinker with the PSU lineup, posted it on a message board, and it became established rumor? A question for those closer to the situation: wouldn't Lee be forced to move into the dorms if he enrolled?
Penn State's housing rule is that all UP freshmen must live in the dorms unless they live with relatives in Centre County. Lee has none, and his 8-9 months does not qualify his as a PA resident, so it's hard to see how that would qualify him as a Centre County resident.

At the risk of falling deeper into this rabbit hole ... didn't Willie say Lee was living with his grandmom in State College?
Rabbit, meet hole. Join Pooh.yes, he did.
That's what the slush fund is for ...... his 8-9 months does not qualify his as a PA resident, ...
You mean Spyker and 21 let you sit in on their meeting?! Man, Willie, you really do have pull!... i promise you there were serious discussions (amongst the parties that matter and whom make the decision) about it ...

Just a clarification on the PA resident portion of this. Depending upon the circumstances, one does not need to be a PA resident for a year to get residency status at PSU. When we moved back to PA, it was mid-semester of my oldest son's sophomore year. I had to provide a lot of documentation, but even though we had only been here several months, we were granted residency status, and they gave the status retroactively to the start of the semester.A question for those closer to the situation: wouldn't Lee be forced to move into the dorms if he enrolled?

Perhaps 'no chance' and it certainly doesn't look like it will happen, but i promise you there were serious discussions (amongst the parties that matter and whom make the decision) about it.
so, no, it wasn't just a rumor.
Has anyone tracked flights between Indianapolis and State College with Cael and/or Mr. Lee on the manifest?Anyone can search the PSU directory on-line.
As stated earlier in this thread, there is one Nicolas Lee enrolled, but the phone number shown is area code 610, lives off campus & and is a theatre major - so that can't him.
PSU directory does not show a "Nick Lee" listed.
Have the Go team set up a perimeter and ID everyone within. No one gets in or out.Has anyone tracked flights between Indianapolis and State College with Cael and/or Mr. Lee on the manifest?

I don't want to start any rumors, but I heard Zain is thinking about becoming a pacifist. No more bonus points from him. He just wants to regular decision his wrestling brethren henceforth. The bigger question is why would this even be considered?
it may have been considered because Mr Lee himself could have been pushing for it and then with the latest.... The CEO always is looking for contingencies. Doesn't mean they will exercise any..... certainly want to know all options. Again folks, speculation simply allows others to be amused. No reason to doubt Willie's input here. The bigger question is why would this even be considered? Did the coaches feel that Cortez's performance was a major key to the B1G and national tournaments? If the loss of points is a major concern with the loss of Cortez, I would think there would be more logical avenues to pursue, at different weights, than this one (God forgive me for going down this path). I just don't see the loss of Cortez as a major hit to our tournament chances based on what I had seen so far from Cortez.
Actually I thought you were right about a year, however, there is no timeframe required in PA. There is a three point test. Don't think you can use this for enrollment but he may very well be a Resident already. How is that for fanning the flames.?A question for those closer to the situation: wouldn't Lee be forced to move into the dorms if he enrolled?

I know freestyle isn't folkstyle, but don't forget this same "high school senior" recently tech'd Alan Waters.
Nick Lee is ranked in the Top 10 at 61kg in US Freestyle Senior Divsion.
I think it's safe to say he's slightly ahead of the common high school senior.
