very very very disappointed in that effort. Let's that kid suck him AGAIN in to not stepping up the action and shooting in on his legs.

What a joke if people thing he's going to get in against Dean's defense.

Dean?! Dean?! At this rate Bo won't see Dean if Martin is on his side of the bracket. Zero reason to believe that the dual is the exception and tonight and last year's final are the rule.

1. Relax.

2. He beat Martin 8-2 earlier this year. He dropped one here. Big deal. Call me when they wrestle in 2 weeks.

3. It's not Dean's defense I'm worried about in that matchup. Gabe's an offensive juggernaut the likes of which Nickal has never contended with.

...what would the ref do if Bo just refused to follow Martin around the circle?...
...Martin is the one who is constantly backing up... and the refs let him do it without calling him for stalling...
... if you are constantly chasing it is hard to engage but if you are the one constantly back pedaling you can decide when to shoot...
...makes no sense to me that Martin is allowed to back pedal like a boxer and not get called on it...
...oh, well...

I realize Nickal lost to Martin last year, but today was stunning to me. I really didn't expect it after the way the dual went this year. Kinda felt like Ed Ruth losing to Dean a few years ago. really didn't see this one coming.

...no, he's won 3 out of 5...
...last year 2 out of 3...
...this year they split 1-1...

Give Martin credit, he was aggressive. I think he ran a good bit at the end and should have been warned but it probably wouldn't have made a huge difference with how the match went.

They could meet in St. Louis but maybe not, that tourney is crazy, look at the 174 bracket last year, anyone can go down early. I am sure Bo is pissed at himself but I really give Martin credit for wrestling a good match.

Reminds me of Hagler losing to Leonard by using a stupid strategy and tactics. Let the "runner" bring action into the middle instead of chasing him.

No, YOU'RE wrong here. Bo is 4-2 versus Martin. Another poster that can't count.

Actually you are wrong. As I posted earlier Bo is 4-2 vs Martin. But he has lost 2 of the last 3. Which is what that poster stated.

Don't be so pompous when you are misinformed

Youve heard that saying "speed kills"? Well it certainly did that night. Hagler looked lost trying to counter what Leonard brought to the table...

The poster did not say 2 out of the last 3.
And he's lost 2 out of the 3.

How is the record 1-2 after 6 matches?

I don't know what you're worse at, counting or reading.

Now who's misinformed??

It was clear he meant 2 of the last 3. Which is accurate and he stated in his next post

But yes. I did Mis read his original post. But his intent was clear

Lol. Are you bombed?

You responded to Dsites52 who said nothing about the total record, only that bo had lost 2 of he last 3. You told him he was wrong.

He is correct. Bo has lost 2 of the last 3 to Martin. That is a fact. Jesus. Are you this dense ?

I'm his defense, I originally missed typing "last". His point is that Bo is 4-2 overall while my point is that in the last 3 meetings, Bo is trending downward when it comes to matchups with Martin.

Yes. I saw that. However you responded to a post where it's stated Bo is 4-2 and you didn't dispute it. And your wording was clear in what you meant. He's just being a dick for some reason.

And I even disagree with your assessment that Martin is trending up. If Bo wrestles smart he wins every time imo

I agree that Martin was intent on backing as far away as often and the ref would allow him. Bad look on the refs. I have seen this act more and more this season. They seem to feel great about handing out stall calls indiscriminately when a wrestler goes out of bounds wether they went out on their own accord or were forced out yet they refuse to address the same backing away in the center of the mat. IMar did that repeatedly near the end of his match with Cenzo. What is next.....do they allow the wrestler to go further to the opposite side of the mat and not just back to the center??

A sample size of 3, where the split is 1-2, cannot be used to determine a downward trend. Especially when Bo won the second of the 3 matches.

If 3 matches could predict a downward trend, how do you account for Bo winning the first 3 matches and losing the 4th?

W, W, W, L, W, L. Show me the trend.

Come on now people, use your brains.

Sometimes a wrestler has to have the mind set to win a tactical match. I think Martin just is able to be more tactical. Bo being so good on the big finishing moves gets penalized for not being in many close matches. He has to prove he can get the 3rd period takedown.

Nice thread. Couple internet 4 timers (you guys must be fun when the shit hits the fan). and Leonard - Hagler!?!? WTF, lol. Hey James Toney, I got two words for you: Dave Tiberi ;-). Sorry man, no offense. Huge boxing fan with a few beers in me.

I think Nickal actually likes to have his opponent get to his legs, where Bo can counter with his big moves and scrambling ability. However, tonight Martin was twice able to finish when he got to Nickal;s legs. I think it surprised Bo both times.

You son of a B****!!!! Hahahaha. I remember that fight, Toney was gassed walking to the ring.LOL. Poor Tiberi was robbed big time that night. Yeah Toney my all time favorite fighter. Met him one time also, saw him fight live a few times( heck I met a bunch of professionals over the years). Man I have been a fight fan(and former amateur fighter) since the 80's. Just got done watching Garcia and Thurman tonight. Boxing has always been my first love, but since my nephews wrestled and now my two sons are wrestlers, I seem more interested in college wrestling.

Nickal is the knockout artist. Sometimes you got outbox the opponent. I never liked Mayweather, but he would beat his opponent tactically. I preferred watching Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor destroy his competition.

I just got done watching the Garcia fight also. My daughter was roommate of Garcia girlfriend at East Stroudsburg U. He invited my family to his last fight, at Temple U. I wish Garcia would of won, he's pretty grounded and remembers his roots. Kinda of like how Larry Holmes was to Easton.
