Based on a few recent discussions such as B. Short‘s recent NIL comments, Mauti, Shrews reasons for leaving, etc. they were frequent comments about an explanation about NIL and a university’s involvement. This says Calvin Booth is on the advisory board of SWH. What a kick in the teeth for his kid to go elsewhere.

if Shrewsberry interviewed for the ND job after the Rutgers game, there was a lot more going on than NIL. It seems obvious that he had some prior connection to the ND administration, because, after the Rutgers game our season looked like complete garbage. So why would ND even be interested in a 2nd year coach who had done nothing? Then they overpay huge to get him from, us? He didn't get Georgetown and we didn't hear of anybody else being interested. There were some relationships there and we weren't going to do anything about it. I am sure NIL was a factor but it's starting to seem like it gave him a good talking point for his exit. Pickett must have been getting NIL. not sure how dire it really is

Shrews a premier coach with a solid pedigree. But he is an Indiana kid and wanted to go home. Home run hire for ND and a terrible loss for PSU but it was inevitable. Hope he takes Krieger with him. Kraft needs to clean house on the BB side. PSU must have a successful program in the new ICA landscape.
