OK, Penn State got screwed out of the Rose Bowl, but is anyone surprised by that? In fact, the handwriting was on the wall with Herbie's blathering last weekend -- dutifully amplified and repeated a thousand times by the media hive all week long.
BUT: we did get an NY6 bid, and that's pretty damn good. A good way to end a good season -- an ending very few predicted back in August. People have said there's no upside to beating Memphis. I disagree. It's a big deal to win any NY6 game.
Another silver lining: the Bucks sliding to #2 and now having to run a Clemson-LSU gauntlet to get Crooked Jim his going-away present. Here's hoping for a repeat of what happened the last time those two teams met in the playoffs.
