Notre Dame's recruiting class...(OT)

So while the recruiting classes were #3, #11, and #11, Kelly has them going from 1 loss to 4 losses to 5 losses last year. The talent is as good as any school in the nation but it appears that they are on a very downward trend.

I sure as heck hope that if PSU gets back to that level in recruiting that it translates to better on the field performance. The bottom line is that ND is a traditional under-performer. They start high in preseason rankings and have top end talent but then turn out to be mediocre. At some point, people are smart enough to recognize the trend. The question is if recruits and their families see it.

Ian, it was my first game too i went on a high school trip" West Hazleton ". I was in the South end zone for that game, Onkotz's punt return, the goal line stand what a game.
Did Ted Kwalick catch a big pass off of play action in that game???

ND is now part of the ACC (not full member), not the Big East
He was referring to the BC baseball coach leaving BC (ACC) for ND (then Big East for all sports but football. ND wouldn't own BIG baseball any more than they owned BE. They are good. Good facilities etc. their Olympic/secondary sports have been, will be, would be fine in any conference. Basketball needs a strong conference. Football is what it is.

ND recruiting classes are typically overated as Tom Lemming is a ND shill who immediately up any recruit that goes to ND by a star greatly inflating their recruiting rankings. As look at ND recruiting vs. on field results and it is not that close. Meaning the recruit ranking for ND are not correct.

Part of what will keep ND "relevant" is the pipeline, or in if you will, they have with parochial schools throughout the country. A good majority of Catholic schools have coaches who live and die with ND football. They have a huge influence over a good many kids (see Wimbush last year, for example). Between ND's historical fame, it's tremendous fan base, and it's inherent edge with parochial power houses, they'll continue to get quality kids and, I'm afraid to say, with the right coach, they could become quite powerful again- having said all that, I concur with theGLOV

love how the ND recruiting threads on this board are longer than the PSU threads

It's solid but not solid in comparison to what Kelly did there recruiting the first few years. They obviously could finish really strong but they also might end up with a class outside the top 20. I wouldn't doubt that Kelly's act is starting to wear thin with everyone. We will see, he is insane and I doubt he has much more leash left with the priests.

It's July 2015.

And do you know what the sentence "They obviously could finish really strong" means?

It's not even worth discussing at this point. ND is a school that typically fights for the top guys at the end. Right now they have only a few recruits, but so does Texas.
