Of the five major bowl games (Cotton, Fiesta, Orange, Rose, and Sugar), I'm not counting the Peach Bowl in this question as it is new to the major bowl scene and Penn State hasn't played in it, which of the major bowl games have you seen Penn State play in and how was the city (Dallas, Tempe, Miami, Pasadena, New Orleans)? Did you enjoy the host city?

I've only been to the Cotton Bowl as I'm way behind on my Penn State major bowl games. For all the criticism that Frankliin gets, considering he had to deal with the sanction repercussions on recruiting, he's taken Penn State to the Cotton, Fiesta and Rose Bowl games in a relatively short period of time.

I've been to the Rose Bowl and the Orange Bowl at both the old stadium and the new one. No real complaints about either place but it's hard to get a feel for the city when things are so spread out and you're only there for a few days. I didn't stay in Pasadena so maybe that was the problem. The Orange Bowl Stadium had a more intimate feel since it was in a neighborhood. Hard Rock Stadium isn't really near anything. I've been to New Orleans but not for the Sugar Bowl. Given the chance I'd go. It's a good time.

Sugar (1972), Cotton (1972, '75), Fiesta (1996), and Alamo (1999, 2007).

Since I accepted Oklahoma's forfeit in 1972, I am 6-0 in Penn State Bowl games.

Best city: San Antonio

Worst city: New Orleans

glad to have seen The Rose....but it is now a dump......best venue to watch a game is Jerrry's world. Tampa is okay. Loved Yankee Stadium because it was close to home and I enjoyed seeing a FB game in a stadium where I had attended so many baseball games.

Couldn’t agree with you more; you couldn’t pay me to go back to the Rose Bowl. Worst football experience of my life. Went to the Sugar Bowl for the National Championship and it was terrific.

The Cotton is played at AT&T in the town of Arlington which is about 20 miles from Dallas. Stadium is phenomenal but not a big fan of Dallas proper.

Fiesta is played at State Farm in the town of Glendale which is about 10 miles from Phoenix. It was formerly played in Tempe until 2006. Saw games at both locations. State Farm is beautiful facility but doesn't measure up to AT&T. Love Phoenix/Scottsdale.

Orange is played at Hard Rock in Miami Gardens which is about 15 miles north of Miami. Its been played there for the last 20 years. Was there for the 3 OT win vs FSU. Nice facility but comes in third to AT&T and State Farm Love the South Beach area.

Rose. Been to two of them. Love the LA area and like taking the Gold line from Union Station to Pasadena. Stadium is a dump.

Sugar Never been.

I have been to the Orange Bowl and Fiesta Bowl. Both games were fantastic. I actually enjoyed Phoenix and Scottsdale more than I did Miami. I had a good time at the Tax Slayer bowl a few years back too. The Outback bowl in 2007 ( I think that was the year) was fun except it rained the whole time
