Official PSU - Georgia St. Game Thread

Don't see any good young talent at LB. Sure hope the true freshmen can play next year.

But should Ga State be having 63 offensive plays? That's the question.

They've had 15 freaking possessions that's only 4.2 plays per possession! Unfortunately, after you score, you have to kickoff, so when you have a quick strike offense, the other team is going to get lots of possessions.

Another good example is the nonsense about what a great game Bateman is having. He ended up with 98 yards on 28 carries (3.5 ypc).....not the great numbers the announcers are claiming.

You know what they say about stats and statisticians. But #8 for them is a player.

No, I do pay attention. The reason I didn't expect that, is because other than random spelling of Barkley in the past few years, Robinson was brought in specifically for short yardage.
How many random ways are there to spell Barkley? Barkely? Barkly?

Not a fan of that timeout.

Cant decide how I feel about it. On one hand, you never give up, but at the same time, he seemed to be annoyed that they didn't give up. This is a way overmatched team, so what if they kick the ball.

But, I dunno, it is a grey area for me and I don't know the proper etiquette in this situation.

Mahon didn't get the start tonight...

and he's dressed and was in warm-ups. Will Fries get the start.

I don't recall seeing Mahon dressed. Is anybody sure about this ?
The OL has been a huge and puzzling disappointment so far this season. We have experience, depth, talent and a foundation of solid improvement from last season. No reason we shouldn't be much better.

Yep, saw him sending in signals. Surprised he didn't get in over Fessler.
He was out there in warmup's. I am wondering about this guy because his throws were all over the place and wobbly. I know he had a shoulder injury. I would not be surprised if it was his throwing shoulder.

Are you a fan of a FG attempt down 56-0 with 10 seconds left? Sorry, but that's baloney. I guess I get it, they didn't want to get shutout. Well, Franklin wanted his team to have a shutout. So they did what they had to do, we did what we had to do.

Georgia State was our punching bag for 4 quarters and they drove it down to get into FG position on their last drive. I don't fault their coach for wanting to give his team SOMETHING to feel good about at the end.

Trying to ice a kicker up 56 is in poor taste. Just my opinion.

That was in the 3rd quarter, not with 10 seconds left. I wish we would have kept Stevens in there for another series. Sick and tired of caring what people think. Look where that got us

Yeah --- that field goal in the Michigan game moved us from "4 scores down" to .............

STILL 4 scores down. That FG was waving the white flag, it wasn't an attempt to position ourselves to win the game.

Good coach, but man, Franklin acts like a jag-off way too often. Give Georgia State their little "win." What the hell do we care?

Almost backfired.

If Franklin was that concerned about the shutout he should have left better players in. I thought that time out was a bit of a dick move.

It was the same damn thing. Good coach, but man, Franklin acts like a jag-off way too often.

Stop you're crying. If you can't understand the difference between kicking a FG down 28 in the 3rd quarter and kicking a FG down 56 with 10 seconds left, I can't help you. You don't like Franklin. Who cares? He's coaching with an attitude. You don't like it, go cheer for Michigan. Their coach is never a jag-off

I almost drank a pumpkin beer tonight. I had a couple of sips and then said no thanks. Down the drain it went.

I don't understand why kicking A FG SOLELY to prevent the shutout is ok. Baloney.

And I can't imagine how much you would have been crying if Franklin had left the starters in. "Whhaahhhhhh! He's being mean by leaving in the starters. Whaaahhhhhh!! Stop being such a her James. Whaaaahhhhh!" Grow up. This is big boy football.

That's kinda the point, I'd rather not have a coach that acts like Harbaugh...

Icing the kicker seemed a bit much, but Franklin's getting paid to coach not prevent hurt feelings. He's stated he wants that killer instinct in the team, perhaps he's leading by example.

I didn't know it was Franklin's job to give Ga State a win. I thought he was paid to do what's best for PSU.
