Official PSU - Michigan Game Thread

I agree. For me the OSU game being close made my expectations increase dramatically, but in reality thye are not a good team.

As I said during their ND game, Michigan is the real deal this year. I had hopes we could compete, but our O was terrible.

This D while not world beaters has been OK.

LdN
The D has been on the field forever the last 3 or 4 games. It has been a problem with the offense that has been either quick strike or 3 and out. The offense needs to help out the D.

I'm peed. Franklin should be completely embarrassed. Elite teams may lose here and there, but not by 40 + points. Jimmy your making a lot of $$$$. You have all the Shiny lights, the best of everything. Your not getting it done. Bring in Durkin.

Michigan got killed at Penn State, Ohio State got killed at Iowa. It happens. Michigan is loaded with upperclassmen this year. That alone makes a huge difference on a team. Think what you were like at 18 or 19 and then 22 or 23 when you graduated. Now imagine the physical differences between 18 and 19 year olds and 22 year olds who have been in a S&C program for four years.

Another “surprise” (at least to Pry and our defense) run by the Michigan QB.

How did you feel about Harbaugh last year when he was just one player away?

Some of you people are unbelievable.

LdN
Plenty of other teams you can root for - gotta love bandwagon fans. I grew up a Cubs fan so go Find another team if you can’t handle this loss

Good game, Nitts.

It is a shame Trace wasn't 100%. His running was limited and his passing touch was always a tad off. When he is healthy he is a game changer. Your defense should be outstanding the next few seasons. Especially your d line. The difference between the teams is not THAT great, but like last year, this one just snowballed.

Good luck the rest of the year and see you next season at the White Out.

Go Blue!

Glov, Harbaugh challenged it. You could even tell the ref was annoyed

Franklin did the same thing against Pitt up by more. Harbaugh was making a point tonight. Unfortunately we played horribly and allowed him to embarrass us
Not with the starters in....put in the backups and play is straight up! Challenging a call that was CLEARLY not even close is just PRICKISH!

PSU made the PAT, so it's 42-7, with under 2 minutes to go.

and it's now a final, 42-7

disappointing, to say the least

For how classless Michigan is has been, maybe Frankin can say that the seven points were in honor of how many years it’s been since Michigan beat their rival and how many decades it’s been since they won a (unshared) national title.

The Difference Time Can Have

'16 - Michigan stomps us. Actually leads to our resurgence that year.
'17 - we crush Michigan. They look nothing like an elite defense.
'18 - they dominated us today. They look nothing like last year. We are exactly who we thought we were.

'19 will be different. We return nearly everybody. They will lose a lot. It sucks today though.

He scored a meaningless TD against a D that took its foot off the gas. Doubt how that will give him any confidence for next year.
d wanted to preserve the shutout. even if it took foot off the gas, it's still on par with the mid-level teams on the schedule and it's better than sitting on the sidleine watching 9 and 24 get stuffed up the middle

Tommy is the right quarterback for this offense. Looks like the playbook is pretty limited when he's in there, so one has to question what's really going on in practice. The #2 QB is supposed to get the same work as the #1 QB.

That said, I've been on record many times here arguing that an offense that relies on running the QB has some major pitfalls. Takes his focus on the major thing that he does -- reading defenses down field and passing.
Tommy missed a third to half the season with an injury. That limits what you can learn.

And I don't know of any team where the no. 2 gets the same work as the no. 1.
