No, but I do think it's a bad look for the school to have "student" athletes holding wads of cash. Not sure how anyway can't fathom that. What’s they holding, $500 cash? Are we really at the point where an athlete holding $500 cash is assumed to have received it improperly?

Let's take a look. The young man on the right has a $20 bill on the top of his bills and there are a minimum of 20 bills in the stack he is holding (likely more since those bills are not fanned that you can see every bill). Let's call that a minimum of $400. The young man on the left has a $100 bill on the top of his fan (that would give us $500 there). In addition, there appear to be a lot more bills than the first person is holding. Even if the other bills are $20 bills, there are still many hundreds of dollars in his hand. IMHO, there is easily over $1,000 there - quite possibly a lot more. What’s they holding, $500 cash? Are they paid in cash? Its really not alot of money considering they are getting a monthly stipend from OSU as do PSU players. They could have just "got paid"....lol With that being said, its a poor look.
Are they paid in cash?
I'm sure it's all just a misunderstanding. You know, they mow lawns, shovel driveways, stuff like that.
A few days from now, these guys will be wondering why someone broke into their apartments.
What would be the purpose of a young man flashing a roll of cash? What’s they holding, $500 cash? Are we really at the point where an athlete holding $500 cash is assumed to have received it improperly?
Reminds me of an old spurrier quote on a fire at the Auburn library that destroyed 20 books: “The real tragedy was that 15 hadn’t been colored yet.”Not to mention all the money they can make tutoring other students.
On this board? Yep.What’s they holding, $500 cash? Are we really at the point where an athlete holding $500 cash is assumed to have received it improperly?
So if they were both holding 5 $1 bills this would still be a topic on here?It has nothing to do with the amount.
Snark at its best. Not to mention all the money they can make tutoring other students.
The Fisher way..Don't they know that appropriate way to flaunt your totally legitimate cash is by flipping the bird while covered in said cash on a hotel room bed?
Nobody will admit it, but if we needed to do this to catch up to them, and we didn't get caught, plenty of people here would be OK with it. They'll all deny it, of course.
I sent the OP's picture to my son.
He replied to my text with two pictures of Penn State football players and included -
this outfit cost about $550 (showing a hoody, monogrammed t-shirt sticking out from under the hoody, whatever jeans and tennis shoes).
He also showed a picture of KJ and Jesse's shoes and said those run $300+.
Said off-white shoes (a label name I guess) are $400 for the cheapest and several players have been in pictures wearing different pairs.
Flash the cash, or flash the very very expensive clothes that the cash purchased.
OL
Is the monthly stipend taxable? What’s the upper dollar limit for a schollie FB player? Thanks.
I am 100% sure that a PSU player has sometime in the last 25 years taken money from a booster. But what goes on Ohio State, and Bama and the SEC in general, USC under Carrol really is what takes it to a different level. Those schools actively entice players to come to their schools by gauranteeing them that the boosters will take care of them.
Must be nice. When I was in college if I had $20 I was ecstatic.
