Closing ceremonies: Seems like the USA committee said ‘enough of this artsy fartsy , deep psychological imagery stuff. We are America!

Tom Cruise takes a huge leap, grabs the Olympic flag, rides through the streets of Paris on a motorcycle waving the flag, right up onto a massive cargo plane, then parachutes out over LA!

It was like a giant shot of testosterone. And huge burst of excitement and intrigue. A statement of ‘Hold my beer!’

Seems the contrast could not have been more pronounced.

This is the final count. I believe it applies only to American athletes. I know one of our Polish fencing alums received a bronze medal. Several UDub rowing alums won medals for Britain.

Kid that won a gold in the 4x400 goes to Bullis school. He also plays football.
