OSU's Mike Yurcich to UT??

not claiming this as inside info just a discussion with a coworker who is a bucknut alumni and follows quite closely. Rumors are going around in Cbus that Yurcich is not well liked by the staff and Day May have asked him to look elsewhere. Seems he has an abrasive personality.

I only bring it up as his name has been thrown out there in connection with the PSU OC job.

That's what got me thinking about Beck - the article says he has another gig lined up after Texas' bowl game, and CJF is waiting until after the bowl season to announce...

Just musing it....no idea if it will happen or not.
Beck is a good recruiter but never was that impressed with him as a coach at Nebraska and Texas.

That makes some sense since it makes no sense otherwise. You have a QB likely to be #1 or 2 for Heisman where you're at vs a HC that is likely gone if they lose 3-4 games next year.

Yurcich may also not be pleased that Day calls most of the plays. Having your salary doubled is also hard to turn down.

I would not let that impact my judgement. Wasn't JuJaun Seider "reassigned" to TE coach or something under the new Florida staff?

Yes he was reassigned by Mullen, but his RB's results were pretty good and most people were surprised he was pushed into the TE coach role you mentioned. Seider has to be one of the top 10-15 position coaches hired by PSU in the past 40+ years. What a hire by JF.

Just his recruiting in Florida makes him top 10. Add a very good RB room and he is easy top 10.

Not that CJF would care about public relations regarding putting together his staff, but it wouldn't be a good look to hire an OC that was just let go at a name program that is failing to live up to it's name.........

I agree. Just pointing out that a "reassignment" should not be an automatic dis qualifier when looking for a hire.

Suspect this move was not a reflection of Seider as RB coach, but Mullen bringing his own RB coach with him and wanting to keep Seider on staff.

Austin or Columbus.....Austin or Columbus?

That’s about the world’s easiest no-brainer!

They better pay him a lot of money.... it’s a serious risk as Hermann is on the hot seat and better beat OU and go to a NY6 or he might be goal. No more 4-5 loss seasons. Texas and Florida State lead the nation in wasting talent. Incredible how they have recruited over the years.

Another way to look at it: If the O and Texas have a "bounce back" season, he becomes the next shiny object. If Texas tanks again....its all on Herman and this guy was only a passenger on the Titanic.

I guess that’s where Franklin is going next....read all about it starting in September.
