OT: Al Dimeola Coming to Palace Theater in Greesburg

It was. I barely knew who Paco was at the time. They all played at such a high level. They started out in duets. First was Mediterranean Sundance with Al and Paco. It was the highlight of the night.

I've seen Al 4 times. First time was in 1978. Saw UK and Alan Holdsworth warm up for him once at the Tower. Saw him with McLaughlin and Paco too.
I hope you played guitar sometime in your life because you just commented on four great guitar players that i would consider no name guitarists to the general public’s eye. There are many more i like also but the mainstream don’t appreciate greatness Jim hall. Wes Montgomery Joe pass. Pat martino tal farlow. Many more

I did. I've seen Joe Pass and Pat Martino. Wes Montogmery was not around for me to see. I've seen John Scofield, Pat Metheney and many others. I never saw Jim Hall, but greatly appreciate his articulate voicing on some of the Ella Fitzgerald recordings I have. Poetry. Charlie Byrd, who I also saw, is another I admire. His Christmas album is one of our favorites for the holiday season. I like all styles of guitar playing. John Williams, the great classical guitarist, is one of my favorites. This conversation could go on and on.

I've seen Pass/Martino/Hall/Scofield (several times)/Metheny (about 20 times)/Carlton/Frisell/Abercrombie/Stern (several times)/Coryell/Rittenour/Carlton/Holdsworth/McLauglin/Benson, several others. Not bragging, just go to a lot of shows......and I don't play guitar.

Unfortunately the best often play to the smallest audiences. Those guys are all top of the pyramid. Jimmy bruno is another great that is still lesser known even in jazz circles.
