Grayson Allen has been suspended indefinitely from the Duke University basketball team after kicking another opponent, head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced in a statement on Thursday.
Anyone else see the incident? I happened to tune into the game just after it happened. He didn't kick the other kid, he used his leg to sweep the other players legs out from under him. Blatantly. The announcers went ballistic.
Apparently the Duke JR had done this multiple times before, so a sizeable suspension should be in order.
PS The only thing I ever saw anywhere this blatant was in the Palestra, in Philly, back in the 60s. Penn was playing another team ( from out of town) when their big center threw a mean elbow and hit the Penn player in the side of the head, dropping him like rock. KO! The Penn coach ran out onto the court, right at the offending player and looked ready to punch him out. Fortunately the players and refs kept. them apart.
