OT - Meanwhile in Pennsyltucky

Try the alligator mating roars/growls in spring. We have a 9 footer and a 6 footer behind our house and they make quite the noise in the dark of night for a couple weeks looking for the methhead girls from the laurel highlands no doubt. You can get fed and high at the same time.
That's nothin', you should hear my neighbor!

I heard this yesterday, a Big foot was just spotted outside of Williamsport. I call BS

I think I know who started this rumor...

This is not Jax specific so don't get your panties in a bunch but for the life of me I'll never understand how anybody voluntarily lives in Oklahoma. Sure it's flat and boring but at least you get tornadoes!!!!! I spent the worst year of my life there one week.
Really good wrestlers have been moving to Wilkes-Barre for wresting for a while now.

Wilkes-Barre is friggin Vegas compared to Oklahoma.

Second link is definitely AI. Eurasian Eagle Owls are large but not nearly that large.

Although they're not native to the US, I was able to photograph a Eurasian Eagle Owl in the "wild" a few times because one had escaped from the Central Park Zoo and when he proved too difficult to recapture, they let "Flaco" remain free. He mostly kept to Central Park, favoring one particular tree at the northen end of the park. Unfortunately, he died a little after a year of freedom, after eating something (a rat or pigeon most likely) that had ingested poison, and flew into a building.

Is nothing sacred anymore? : )

Wilkes-Barre is great if you like watching Live PD.

I don't think you'll find a single place in Oklahoma as run down and nasty as about 40 small cities in PA and Ohio.

Plus, and it may be my inner Levi and Messenbrink, but some of us just like being outside. Oklahoma is a fine place to be if you're an outdoorsman.

Does Oklahoma have the famous Shamokin Dunkin Donuts?

Sorry pal, but I’ll take the PA wilds and the outdoor activities around State College to Oklahoma. No disrespect to Oklahoma, but Cental PA is pretty special.

Not comparing Oklahoma to the Pennsylvania countryside. I'm from Biglerville. I grew up in the prettiest countryside ever. You don't have to tell me rural Pennsylvania is the best

I'm specifically responding to someone who said Wilkes-Barre is like Vegas compared to Oklahoma. Wilkes-Barre is a DUMP!! 😂

Like c'mon guys, you're going to live in McKeesport or downtown Reading rather than Oklahoma? Yeah sure...😂

And having been to both, just in terms of the aesthetics of the land, rural Oklahoma is way the hell less boring than Indiana or most of Ohio. The area around Stillwater is pretty, rolling country and not just CORN

I'm assuming all this talk about Wilkes-Barre is because of Wyoming Seminary.

Sem is located across the river from Wilkes-Barre in Kingston which is actually a pretty nice area.

no big deal losing these guys they want to start 4 yrs doubt that would happen here but good luck to them PSU will still be winning titles without them!

Places like shamokin have been losing population for so many decades it amazes they're still there at all. I just looked it up. Shamokin hasn't gained population since 1920 😂
Shamokin spent over a decade under state receivership, just rescinded in August. In 2021, the town's residents voted against home rule.

Having been there quite a few times in the last 3 years, I don't know the financials but have seen and talked with folks about the conditions there. I find it hard to believe that the Borough of Shamokin is in stable financial shape. More likely it got some cash infusion from either Harrisburg or Washington, that masked its problems for a while. Plus a lot of residents are on some form of public assistance.

WNEP has a talent for finding the most (cough cough) entertaining residents of a community. But for Shamokin, they didn't have to work very hard.

Not knocking PA, it does have some nice scenery.

But check out the Pacific NW sometime. It’s like central PA on steroids!

BTW, do you know if the family that owns that shoe house nearby is any relation to Levi Haines?

Who knows. Everyone is distantly related in Adams and York counties. Hell, I'm like 8th cousins twice removed or something from Gettysburg Eddie Plank 🤣

But that house is quite a distance from Arendtsville.
