I will never forget the story my fraternity brother shared with me when he went to the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh to watch Moses Malone practice for an All Star game.
He said that Moses was going through warm ups before a big crowd with this loud boy standing in front of everyone.
The little boy shouted: "Moses Malone, Moses Malone. Do something bad Moses, do something bad mother f*****!!!"
Moses: "Winked" at the little boy. Then from the top of the key he took three running steps towards the basketball goal and soared high into the air with the basketball held with "both hands."
Moses then went so far above the rim, he was able to tap the ball on the back board, not just once, but THREE times before he ended with jamming the ball through the goal for a "thunderous swish!"
The kid and his friends screamed loudly with admiration!
My brother said he never saw anything like it.
