Just watched Deadpool and Wolverine. It has to be one of the best duo movies ever if you are a MCU nerd. Hugh Jackman, Ryan Renolds and Robert Downey Jr. are 100% the best scripted characters that have been to date!

Most of yinz in here definitely seem to be on the same "smart ass" level as me, young and old, I think youngs will definitely like the movie. There is alot of REAL news and slap in the face comments that make this movie very special, it is worth the $30 to buy on Amazon.

Nonstop laughs and good music!

After the whole gif thread yinz guys now know I am computer illiterate. I looked for a movie thread and couldn't find it, if there is one out there feel free to delete this one.

My son and I saw it early. It is witty, hilarious and pretty vulgar.....which is my comedy wheelhouse. It also has heart, Action, great cameos and is just a fun fun ride. Two middle fingers up :)

I think dead has a little too much cussing!

Older kids like me.

Lines are pretty blurry right now as far as what is and isn't exceptable.

Just got done watching Ted lasso on apple TV. Great show very funny with some real life experiences.

Any how, they only made 3 seasons, the third ending in '23. Because phones can hear you speak, a website was on my internet home screen, click bait. We'll as it turns out they are planning another season atleast two years removed from what was the last episode.

So here's my thing. Squid games took an exceptionally long time to come ourlt with a new season and I haven't even watched a sec of it. Any one else with me on this?

As good as the show is if they take that long to come out with a new season is it really worth the cost, does any one else in this day and age, with so many options, still go back to an old series that took a ridiculously long sebaticle. Or am I on my own here?

People seldom mention one of my favorites - Bite the Bullet, with Hackman and James Coburn as ex-Rough Riders in a long-distance horse race.

I remember when that film hit the news cycle, but remember the takery around it was kinda murky.

This helped me bridge the gap between Knowing Next to Nothing about it and Spending 130 Minutes Watching a Video, in case anybody wants to join me in the middle:

Interesting, to me, tidbits:
- Filming was co-exec-produced by Mel Gibson & Tony Robbins, among others, including "Andrew McCubbins, who was was convicted in 2020 of running an $89 million Medicare fraud scheme.[24]"
- Distribution went on a wild ride (I think this is about all I could remember from the OG news cycle): was first contracted with 20th Century Fox, which was bought by Disney, which then shelved it. So the filmmakers then used Angel Studios, which largely crowd-sourced the distribution funding--interesting read in that section, imo.
- like all movies 'based on real events', this one was widely critiqued as exaggerative, but the real life main character, Tim Ballard, was indeed removed "as the head of O.U.R. (the org he founded after leaving DHS) following an internal investigation in 2023." "in a December 2023 statement posted on its website, the organization said an independent law firm reached the conclusion that Ballard had "engaged in unprofessional behavior that violated O.U.R.'s policies and values."[50]

Next Steps, for me:
- I think I'll see it
- This review aligns with my general approach to movies 'based on real events": ""Let's assume that, like me, you're not looking for a dark, faith-based suspense film to see over the holiday weekend… Even then, you needn't hold extreme beliefs to experience Sound of Freedom as a compelling movie that shines an authentic light on one of the crucial criminal horrors of our time, one that Hollywood has mostly shied away from."[65]"
- Generally try to learn more about human trafficking, via media that eases my ability to learn better than video does: written words, good reporting, sources that tend to push me over the tipping point from skeptical to kinda trusted.

(Mod edit - removed political references and moved to Movie thread.)
One warning about what you read in Wikipedia regarding anything with a social or political connection to it. Wiki has shown a pretty strong bias in this area for years. I'll leave it to you to decide where the bias is leaning.
