I follow Notre Dame on Facebook because I almost went there, and they were my favorite college program until I came to PSU. Lately, their Facebook photos have the phrase "Culture Beats Scheme" on them. I'm finding that funny for multiple reasons:
1) I don't care how great the culture is, a service academy team isn't beating Alabama's scheme (or superior players)
2) In the photo I link, do you guys think it's a discussion of culture, or scheme they're going over on that sheet?
3) What kind of great "culture" can a guy like Brian Kelly provide?
4) Didn't their last coach talk about how his teams had a "distinct schematic advantage?" They lost a lot once Brady Quinn left, so maybe they're acknowledging that the schematic advantage wasn't getting it done?
Anyway, kinda slow leading up to the season, and I thought it was kind of funny given the above, and pretty stupid given it's a meaningless phrase in the context of Facebook photos.
