there are a few collections to familiarize yourself with the comic

I recommend Gone To Texas (reprints issue #1-7) and Salvation (reprints issues #41-50) to get a feel on the series

IMHO, best comic book series ever written. Garth Ennis put forward a 66 issue masterpiece the equivalent of Breaking Bad for comic books.

I hope they don't write out the Saint of Killers . . .

I'm not a comics guy, nothing against them, and I typically enjoy the stories, just not in the print as opposed to when they make it to TV or the big screen.

no worries, "Preacher" is one of those rare comics that blends the story and the visuals so well it transcends the genre
