This time it was the Carolina Panthers losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Our 'friends' from Pitt always like to gloat about their 13 - 9 win over WVU.

But seeing a 48 - 14 score with the Panthers on the losing end does bring back fond memories for many Nittany Lions fans....

ETA: For our younger fans, here are the highlights from our 48 - 14 win over then number 1 Pitt. (Maybe the last time that Pitt football was ranked no.1)

Greatest game in Penn State’s history. Pitt was loaded with NFL (HoF-level) talent. PSU had great talent too.

Can you imagine a current PSU team going into hostile territory of #1 ranked team and dismantling them?

One can dream…

I remember that game like it was yesterday my buddy was a huge Pitt fan the way the game started off he was pretty cocky in a room full of Penn State fans he ended leaving the party early

the other thing that video reminds is just what a dump Pitt stadium was!!

Very fond memory of that game! Great seeing the highlights again!

Beyond the ole fashion a$$ whooping PSU put on Pitt, two things stood out to me. First how huge the pads are. I remember how hard it was to move in those bulky pads when I played in HS. Also, the announcers were so stiff. The PSU defender runs an interception back....and right out of his one shoe, and they never mentioned he did it with one shoe. Would have been a good opportunity for a bit of humor.

Mark Robinson ... one mighty fine safety.

The last Pitt guy with a shot at stopping him was Dan Marino. After he whiffed, he was halfway to the bench when Robinson rang up points 42 thru 47.

Wonderful memories.

Sad to think that some Pitt fans have lived and died in that 40 year time span and were never happy. Truly sad... Oh well, there are more generations to disappoint...

Yeah, Penn State fans need to remember how fortunate they are. The history of some of these teams is pathetic. Indiana had their first 11 win season ever. BC has two. I think we have 20.
