Mt Elbert, second highest peak in lower 48. Old man strength coming in. The old lady said she had trouble keeping the pace. First time ever!

Wish I could offer anything, but you're beating me to it. Wife and I are going to the Balkans in November -- start in Sarajevo, then Dubrovnik, then Split. Plus whatever day trips, Mostar and Kotor, at least.Sadly, this will be one of my last messages on this board. Departing today for a couple days in Amsterdam with my brother, then on to Croatia for eight days, so likely won't spend much time on here. Visiting three of the national parks, and spending the rest of the time on the coast or on the water/islands. If anyone has any "must-dos" let me know. Itinerary is full, but we can probably sneak something in, if needed.
Thanks in advance, and it's been an absolute pleasure conversing with y'all. Fortunately, due to this board, there are e-friendships and personal friendships that will continue on. Hopefully, July 1 will see the majority of us land somewhere, and continue the lively banter, Iowa-bashing, and discussions about virtually anything under the sun.

We're going unguided, north to south. Amsterdam, Zagreb, Rastoke, Plitvice, Zadar, Sibenik, Krka, Split, Mljet, Dubrovnik/Cavtat, with an island tour out of Split for a full day.Wish I could offer anything, but you're beating me to it. Wanted to see Plitvice, but it looks like it'll be too cold (and wet?) by the time we would get there.
If I knew where, and we were close by, you know I'd stop in.Get a hair cut from Ed Ruth!
We'll do Plitvice in a future trip in the spring or October, along with Zagreb, Ljubljana, Bled, and Istria. We're going unguided, north to south. Amsterdam, Zagreb, Rastoke, Plitvice, Zadar, Sibenik, Krka, Split, Mljet, Dubrovnik/Cavtat, with an island tour out of Split for a full day.
Looks like it will be cold for Plitvice in November, but I'll bet it would still be worthwhile. In fact, it would probably be unique, in that the vast majority of people only see it in summer.
