I was flying back a week ago, and because of scheduling issues, I couldnt book my ticket until day of travel. Which I did. When I go thru the menu's to ticket my flight, the first leg from West Palm beach to Atlanta, it would not give me a seat assignment, and they said no worries, you'll get one later. So I show up at the airport, 2 hrs early, go to the outside guy for the bags etc, and he says....uh you have to go inside to get your seat. So I go inside, and they say Uh Uh you'll get your seat at the gate. Okay fine, can you add my Known Traveler number to my ticket, Uh UH no, you have to have a seat assignment, so just go thru the regular TSA gate, which I do. Now at that regular gate, I get hauled out of line for enhanced screening. The guy says he has to put his hands on me, to which I say, can I get a female to screen me. He says NFW, and do you want to go to a private room? Uh No. So he starts the pat down, then he says, I have to put my hands down the top part of your pants, around where you belt would go....whatever, lets get it over, ...now I have to go up inside of your leg....really?? WTF, ok whatever, he runs his hands up the outside of my pants and pats around. I mean really??? WTF, If this had happened anywhere else, it would be considered a sexual assault.
Anyway, it was over. But the question I still have is, did this all happen because I bought my ticket 2 hours before I flew?
and second, I think next time this happens, I'll make sure, somehow TSA pre check is on my ticket.

this is a new screening procedure in 2019. Saw it happen to a guy in front of me a few weeks ago. Literally the TSA agent was actively grabbing this guys inner upper thigh, put his hand down the front of his pants about 2 inches. It was insane. The wife was videoing the whole thing. I have no idea how or why this got put in place and obviously it is just a matter of time before TSA is sued (they probably are being sued now as we speak it just has not hit the news).

The other thing I have no idea is why about 50% of the time my fitbit watch gets yellow as showing up for a review and the other 50% it doesn't show up. Not sure how the same machine can 'see' it half the time and the other half not see it.

Happened to me and my nephew when we travelled together when my father passed away. We bought tickets same day as well and we both got pulled out of line and they said it was random....right. I also was sexually assaulted.

My sister was a flight attendant ... she had to tell a few TSA reps to "watch the wand" re getting a little too high up the skirt.

I hate to fly anymore. TSA, crowded airports, planes .... just stay home.

Wand?? There was no F wand, all hands, full contact. Heck the NFL would have counted that as a padded practice!

I got stripped searched once in Dallas, after I'd already been through security once and went back out for a smoke when my flight was delayed. These idiots had me down to my underwear! After I'd already gone though an hour earlier! I think matchstick residue set off their explosive detector since we can't have lighters.

But the flight was so late and I was so bored it was at least something to do.

I don't blame them. It's not for nuthin that I have nicknamed my penis "The Boxcutter".

Sounds like you were a quad S. Your ticket had SSSS printed on the bottom. Triggers are booking one way flights, last minute flights and a few other things. I had it 8 times in one trip before.

TSA Precheck doesnt absolve you of enhanced screening which is random and at times based on risk factors.

Really though, i have had that screening done dozens of times. It is relatively benign.

Do you consider going to the doctor sexual assault?

are you really comparing an MD's training with a TSA officer? Well I guess you are.

Yes, if they do the prostrate exam.

No. I have had it done several times. It is really creepy.

No I am not. I am suggesting your description of sexual assault is odd.

It is not assault when someone tells you what they will do, then asks permission and you say yes.

I had the same thing happen Tuesday at PHL. Not a real big deal. They were very thorough...lol... Not as bad as when I was at the airport in Montego Bay and put in a small room for a close look over.

I also got flagged once for buying a same-day ticket out of Atlanta due to a looming hurricane.

Good luck trying to sue Homeland Security.

I got the business the last two trips. I don't know why the first time and the second time the bomb sniffing dog had a false positive.

Maybe so, but the "asking" is an illusion. It's not like you really have a choice. Either you say yes, or you don't fly.

Unfortunately this is the world we live in.

The question to you is... do you want to be on a plane with someone who objected to additional screening and was let on the flight?

And factually refusal should not be an option once you enter the security area.

But again... i have had it happen probably close to 50 times over the last 10 years. Takes 3 minutes. Nothing crazy.

I've been on 35 flights this year. Have not had the pleasure of any more than the explosives swab yet.

I’m waiting for the command “bend over and cough.” Until it happens nothing is too intrusive. Don’t blame TSA. Give credit where credit is due. You know who I mean.

What if when they ask if they can pat me down (I am a male) I say that I am transgender and only want a female to pat me down as I identify as a woman. At least have some fun while getting the pat down.

LOL, and you think in saying that you will have "fun".
Ok, but IMO the best practice is to say ok and comply. Smart ass comments are not really going to make your experience "fun".

You will miss your flight. I guess if that is your goal go ahead.
