OT: Wonder Woman

And Ares appeared to have aged. Why did all the Germans speak English? Why didn't Steve have a British accent? How did 4 guys commandeer a plane full of poison and there were only a few Germans on board? How is it that no one was punished for disobeying her Mother, the Queen? They didn't seem to age on the island. Why didn't they tell Diana she was a God? Because Ares were find her faster, huh? That makes no sense. Shortest grieving ever over her aunt. Enjoy the movie and turn off your brain. Otherwise you will drive yourself crazy.

How is it that in the movie the 10 Commandments set in Egypt, Edward G. Robinson sounds like a New York City gangster?

In Robin Hood, shouldn't Kevin Costner have a British accent?

In every movie, no matter if the power has been lost and he has to spend the stormy night without electricity, you see Richard Gere waking up out of bed clean shaven! Never even a five o'clock shadow late at night! I use this as my reality reminder to star-struck women btw.

10 Commandments trivia: Which character is played by Lily Munster?

Moses's wife.

Did anyone see the movie in IMAX? At the theatre I attended, they showed a 7 minute preview of Dunkirk. It was intense and blast to the senses. Wonder Woman seemed rather dull in comparison. WW still a good movie, but I had to adjust as wanted Dunkirk to continue.

IMO, Nolan is the one guy working today who knows how to get the most out of IMAX. Dunkirk is going to be awesome.

How about the the future Mrs. Bo Derek's husband?

Joshua.
and by the way John must have had it going on.
His list of wives is AMAZING.
Ursula Andress
Linda Evans
Bo Derek.
Talk about knocking it out of the park Geesh.

Not IMAX ... I saw WW in 3D.

The Dunkirk previews have been running for months. I can't recall when they first appeared, but I certainly saw them in Nov of last year.

It's kind of hard to compare a comic book character film with an actual historical event, where there was a lot of drama, emotion, etc.

and you left out his 1st wife, Pati Behrs.

such a tough life:

Pati Behrs (m. 1948-1956)
Ursula Andress (m. 1957-1966)
Linda Evans (m. 1968-1974)
Bo Derek (m. 1976 till his death in 1998)

I knew he was married before Ursula but didn't know what she looked like. I'm assuming from the other 3 she was a knock out too?

There was also a preview b/f Skull Island, but this was a different one.

Saw it, liked it, but some problems. Really liked the island third/half, some of the WWI was good but too long. The last part didn't work for me. I am ok with suspendeding belief, but that was just too much. To me the first half was done by a good director, and the last part they brought in the B vs S Director, that's what it felt like to me.

If Aries is dead, explain WWII? They never really did.

Still good, just didn't like the the last part.

Aries is dead and he was right about the nature of humans. We can be a vile lot.

Wonder Woman movie was excellent!

I saw Wonder Woman yesterday with my wife and son. I have to admit, I went into the theater expecting a good movie based on reviews, but walked out feeling like I experienced a great movie! The special effects were superb and the story line was better than expected. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you saw the move.

Saw it this weekend and agree - lived up to the hype and then some. I loved Gadot and how WW is so naive - that worked well for character interactions and exploring the world through her eyes. Certainly, she'll be more worldly in the Justice League movie (her being able to speak hundreds of languages was cool and used thoughtfully as well).

Could have done more stuff with Trevor and the Amazons though - would have been fun to watch...
