OT: WOW... horrifying tornado in Rochelle, IL tonight

Wild Day / Wilder Eve Here In Chicagoland!

They began warning everybody Tues eve / Wed morn this was gonna be a brutal day.

Wave after wave of rain / thunder / heavier rains / had about 5 minutes of light, small hail about an hour ago.

O'Hare is in cancellation and 3-4 hour delay mode.

My DirecTV has lost the signal off and on at least a dozen times today and again tonight.

Amazing how the rain really greened the grass up over the last 24 hours!

It JUST missed the center of Rochelle, IL itself ...

generally north and west of the town's center. People live there too, of course, but just less so.

Many crazy crazy videos of that storm. Seriously, thunderstorms that can anchor on a boundary such as a warm front, as this one appears to have done, can get significantly ramped up and more violent.

Paying attention to these storms myself here in Cincinnati. The currently discrete storms over southern Illinois will likely gel into a line then blast through here in the wee hours. But a situation worth paying attention to.
