Terps are reptiles. The Horned Frogs are a colloquial name for the horned lizard which is a lizard, hence also a reptile. Eastern Arizona are the Gila Monsters, a lizard, and a reptile.
So, it got me thinking - there aren't many team mascots of the reptilian variety. THe Florida Gators . . .
We've got nuts (OSU), rodents (the Golden Gophers), lots of birds ( Cardinals, Blue Hens, Falcons, Eagles ), Lions, Panthers, etc. The Terrapins don't count - that's an amphibian. Can't think of any other reptilian, though.
I just made my wife watch it, her only comment was, "where ever that is... We're not going there".
