If you flip 157, Minny wins 19-17. Vombaur and Steveson should ensure that Minny has more bonus points, so Iowa needs the 6th match. Caliendo-Sparks and Kennedy-Whiting are also matches that could be upsets on a bad day. Minny has a solid team this year.
Some rumblings that Brands could be back at 174. And I wouldn't put it past Tom to send out Ferrari at 184 depending on the situation and/or if it makes sense to protect Gabe's seed.
They need Gabe to wrestle and win for his seeding. If he ducks McEnelly, he won't be a top 3 seed at B1Gs, but he will if he beats him. A 4 or 5 puts him on a crash course with Starocci in the semis, which he'll want to avoid at all costs. A loss to McEnelly won't hurt him because he's already behind him right now anyway. So if they are thinking of his seeding, they need to send him out there and hope for an upset. He's good enough, especially defensively, that it's not unthinkable if he can hold the match to one TD at the end or in SV-1.
Think you’re right, a Minny loss would feel devastating to the Iowa program. They have no problem benching Gabe again and sending him to B10’s with shattered confidence

It's more like it's hard for Beau to get motivated to bonus anyone. Since wrestling Beau, Schriever got stuck by Brown and majored (almost tech'd) by Hardy. Vombaur will lay it on him.

Flynn just choked against Cruz. I swear teams are just afraid to wrestle these guys, Iowa never seems to get anybody's a-game.

Also, Ethen Miller sat tonight vs Joey Blaze so he will finish undefeated in the Big 10. He did beat Blaze earlier this year at a tourney.
I have to say even with the lopsided loss to Iowa, I'm impressed with minny. Eggum is doing something right they are fight ING for points the whole match even to the extent of giving bonus and they are good scrambles. Iowa is alway ruff in duals but they are boring to watch, imo.
I don't think Carter has any issues with Mcenelly anymore.
