It's going to be fun watching the program tiptoe on egg shells around the last Ferrari standing for however long it lasts.

If they piss him off and he leaves, what will T&T have for the sh&tshow they put the program through over the past year? They've backed themselves into a corner.
Even more fun: when AJ "rehabilitates" himself in the desert and they try to bring him back.

I found myself watching the B1G Plus stream most of the day yesterday - thankful that Shane Sparks had the call for the main broadcast

Gabe Arnold and Angelo Ferrari (if they wrestle) - is definitely the match I want to see today!

Davino/Shawver in the Midland's semi's is intriguing

Enlighten me on some of your most interesting matches?

Eagles are your NFC East champions! GO BIRDS!

197 at the Soldier Salute is interesting. Buchanan is a big favorite but he will likely have Cody Merrill in the semis and either Salazar or Aeoden Sinclair in the finals. Salazar is an AA from Minnesota and should give Buchanan a tough match. I’m more interested in seeing how these highly touted freshman stack up against Buchanan though. I think both Merrill and Sinclair have NCAA champion level talent but probably need a couple years to get there. Will be fun to see if they can keep it close against the top dogs at this weight. Sinclair vs Salazar in the semis will be great as well
Both matches happening today.

The holiday tournaments are an anticlimax to the preseason. It wasn't long ago when we could expect numerous top-10 match-ups at the Scuffle and Midlands.

Cliff Keen is the only preseason tourney that still attracts top-10 talent.

I decided after 4 clicks it wasn’t worth it.
Because of the event or the software?

Software makes the decision easy. If Flo or this new crappy website (or anyone else) can’t get their sheet together, I really do have other things to do.
I am amazed anyone running a tournament with go with this shit software. The rest of the world goes with either Track or Flow , I couldn't come up with something less user friendly if I tried.

Are Ferrari and Arnold going to wrestle? I sure hope so

Great results for those 2 freshman. Sinclair beating an AA and Merrill wrestling a 2 point match with the number 1 guy

2-0 Buchanan over Merrill.

Calling it now - Barr beats Buchanan. He wrestles a MUCH better guy every day
Who hacked my account and wrote that stupidity? Whoever it was, they gave Buchanan and the Iowa coaching staff waaaay too much credit. I'm on the Barr train.

Shawver OVER Davino 3-2 (TB-1)
I watched the entire bout. Shawver backpedaled for much of the match; Davino was the aggressor and the guy moving forward. Thought Shawver could have easily been hit for stalling a couple times.

Came down to a 1 second difference in riding time in the OT ride-outs, but going forward I would take Davino all day every day.

This match has a great ending.

133 Pound Midlands Final: #8 Tyler Knox (Stanford) VS #15 Dylan Shawver (Rutgers)

Period 1:
These are Flo rankings. Knox with a low stance. Circling & head tapping to start the period. Shawver fakes a shot, then they're back to circling. Knox shoots, but Shawver circles away. Shawver shoots a single, gets to the leg. Knox comes over the top & grabs ankles. Shawver looks to be in better position, but Knox is fighting hard. Knox appears to put Shawver in neutral danger, but doesn't get enough swipes for point. They roll again & Shawver comes out on top & picks up the TD, 3-0. He has a boot in & is working the wrist. Knox grabs the leg, but Shawver is riding tough & Knox can't get out. Knox is trying to back over Shawver. They scramble & Knox gets a reversal, 3-2. Knox rides out the period. 3-2 Shawver, +38-sec riding time.

Period 2:
Knox takes down. Shawver is a little slow coming back to center. Knox gets to his feet. Shawver trips him back to the mat. Knox is immediately back to his feet. Riding time goes over 1-min & Shawver gives Knox the escape, 3-3. Circling in center, Knox is coming forward a little. Shawver is holding position & circling around the center, but not doing much more. Knox isn't doing much either. Circling, hand-fighting, head tapping & tying up, then repeat, 30-sec left. More tying up & circling as the period ends. 3-3 Shawver +1:04 RT.

Period 3:
Shawver takes neutral. Shawver shoots, gets a leg. Knox tries to come over the top & he gets a leg too. Shawver looks to be in a better position as they scramble, then the ref blows it dead for potentially dangerous, restart, 1:25 left. Circling, Knox is coming forward. He shoots, Shawver counters, they're scrambling. They roll & Knox appears to be in better position. Shawver is locked through the crotch & they roll again & then again. They're on the edge now & Knox has a leg, but they go out of bounds, no scoring, 25-sec left. Knox shoots to a low shot off the whistle. Shawver is trying to counter, but Knox keeps coming & gets the TD, 6-3. He has Shawver on has back & adds 4 NF, 10-3. He also gets riding time down to 55-sec. That was a fantastic finish by Knox!

Tyler Knox DEC Dylan Shawver 10-3

What the hell happened to the Midlands Tournament? It's still has some solid teams and wrestlers, but its prestige has totally faded. When I was wrestling in HS (wayyy back in the 80's - I know ancient history) it was the premiere early season open tourney. There are many more options these days, Cliff Keen, the Scuffle, and yes the Soldier Salute, so maybe just chalk it up to more competition. I think the Midlands organizers shot themselves in the foot when they cancelled in 2021. Was that at the height of the pandemic? If so I understand, but isn't that when the Soldier Salute got started? If Iowa could pull it off, why not the Midlands? Anyway, I haven't followed these tourney's recently, so just a bit shocked how far the Midlands has fallen.

Some high school kid from Jefferson-Morgan beat a bunch of college men there and kind of exposed it as being weak.

The Soldier Salute is an abysmal tournament. A PSU dual meet has more talent that the whole of Soldier Salute. Times three.
Yeah, but it’s wrestling and it’s on right now. And Arnold vs Ferrari should be awesome. No different than sending our guys to Black Knight for a wrestle off.

True, but how did Iowa manage to get only 10 to the finals?

Odd thing is Ferrari won by MFF. Looks like Arnold ducking? Didn’t see him get hurt in his semi match.

When our guys didn’t wrestle it was a “no contest”.
