P4P...who is the best wrestler on PSU right NOW?

My definition would be ranking based on if they were all the same weight.

Mine would be that plus adding in a factor based on bonus point wins. Either way it is very subjective, which is why there are such varying opinions in this thread.

Speaking of P4P, has anyone noticed IMar's 2-0 win over Oliver Pierce (ASU) this past weekend. IMar might just have a loss this year! I suspect that he is not in the best of shape or has some injury/illness slowing him down. OR....it may be "average offocials" ;)

I suspect it may or may not have to do with the fact that IMar's father passed away like 2 weeks ago.

Just a thought on the P4P criteria, a way to eliminate much of the subjectivity would be to use the Most Dominant Wrestler measurement that the NCAA uses for it's award after Nationals. Both winning and bonus points are considered.

I thought a major part in Nicos loss was the lack of stalling warnings. Dance did not make an aggressive move in the first period and a vast majority of the match. Was at the World Championships in Vega this summer and was impressed with the officials calling passivity. Wasn't there supposed to be an emphasis on stalling this year?
Anyway:
1) Zain
2) Mac
3) Nico
4) Nolf
5) Nickal

I rewatched the Nico/Dance match and counted over a minute Nico was in the front headlock position from neutral. Yeah, we can complain and say Dance should get dinged for stalling, but I've got to put part of that Nico. It's a position he's found himself in far too often against defensive wrestlers..

I can't imagine a guy like Zane allowing that to happen. If he does get caught taking a shot, he's not going to hang in that position for long, he's going to get out and back to trying to score points..

It's like Cael says; "if you're going to go out there to win, you're going to put yourself in the position to possibly lose, rather than going out there to score points and put yourself in a position to win.''

Yeah, I concur, Jack. Lots of different ways Nico could have won that match, but clearing the ties was definitely one of them. It's funny, Cael mentioned the clearing of ties as something Jan Johnson will need to focus on vs the big monsters this year, but it totally applies to 125 as well.

And as Casey said to Byers after the dual: "Nico is a motivated kid, so a loss isn’t going to necessarily motivate him more. He’s just got to figure out, when guys are backing away from him… he’s got to learn how to get his hands on those guys and get to their legs, he’s going to see that more this year."
