Parking for Maryland

Anybody have any insight as to the plans for parking this weekend?
RV lots open?
Yellow General Parking open?

If you only have a smart-ass answer don't bother responding.

Thanks

I doubt any of the grass lots will be open.
But I don't think any thing official has been said yet.
At least if it has I missed it.

Nothing official yet but based on the amount of rain and then 11 inches of snow that is melting I think you can be assured the parking situation will be the same as it was for Wisconsin.

Add to that rain and snow predicted for game day.

Agree...weather this week doesn't look like there is going to be a chance to dry out. In fact, high of 25 on Thursday? Friday looks nice but game day is looking like a high of 40 with light rain (Sunday is nicer so hopefully the weather moves faster or slower to get Friday or Sunday's weather).

Seems like we’ve really been snake bit for weather on game days this year. It’s tough on the fans. When was our last game in sunny but not frigid conditions?

Yea I'm actually hedging on this game. I've sat through Iowa and Wiscy. If they hadn't moved this game to 3:30 I would probably go but now I'm hedging and don't really want to drive over the mountains in rain and ice.
But you are 100% correct about the weather. Maybe the APP St. game or Kent St. were ok.

I just called and the wizards are meeting now according to the customer service person I spoke with and she said their will be an announcement after 2pm. I am planning on being in the ORV lot this weekend, so hopefully that will get cleared. If not going to be interesting since I plan on leaving Tuesday night o head up and visit family in Williamsport and Altoona Wed. and Thursday before heading to UP Friday morning.

You might want to park at target shopping center and take the shuttle to the stadium for ten dollars round trip per person.

There will be parking available in the student section this week........sorry I should not have posted a smart ass comment per the OP.

actually a good idea to open up student parking as few will be in town. I have no idea how operationally challenging that may be but it is parking.

I can’t believe it will be any better than last game. They had 10” on snow then warm weather. If my back yard is any indications of the grass fields, use plan B

And all that remaining snow/mud will be one thick tundra after a low in the 20s on Wednesday and possibly not getting above freezing until Saturday

IMHO Penn State vastly underestimated how many fans would show up for Wiscy,

I was at Grange two weeks ago. Be prepared to pay an additional $10 if you wish to tailgate. They had about 6 school buses. Not even close to enough. Gragne is a distance from the stadium. Nice spot but I'm sure is going to be partially snow covered and a hot mess.

This week is a tough call. Holiday weekend. Not a great opponent. Questionable weather. However, it is Senior Day.

I'm on the fence about the whole thing.

Did anyone hear how the shuttles to and from the alternate locations went?

I've heard it was pretty terrible. Though the late arriving crowd due to the snowstorms to the north and west may have affected that.

I'm right with you on the fence with this one. First off it does take a large chunk out of the Holiday weekend with the family. Add in what looks like iffy weather AGAIN and I already sat through the Iowa and Wiscy games and well like I said I'm on the fence.

I'm going if for nothing else to say thanks to Trace. And the family gets enough time including Thursday and Friday. I only get six or seven days a year to go to Penn State games and this is the last one of the season. I'll park at the Lutheran Church downtown which is easy in and easy out.

I am betting ALL grass lots are closed and shuttles will be used again. I bet it will be even tougher operationally because with the holiday there will be less people to work. I may go to game but probably will just watch on TV to avoid potential freezing rain.

I just got off the phone with the people at the Grange. I have Overnight RV so I called for some information. The Grange is not taking parking on Saturday. Only Campers and support vehicles.

Yep wife called earlier...they didn't have info on the shuttles yet, on if they would be complimentary due to the weather issues. Said it was being discussed and they would know more tomorrow.
Wonder if they would run one Friday as I was hoping to attend the volleyball match.
Does anyone know if Uber runs out that way?

You can get take an uber from state college to florida, so you'll definitely have people willing to drive 8 miles.
