Parsons at MLB

I love the idea. Not a great chance it will work but worth trying for sure.

At one point they were considering Enis at LB and I loved that idea. A dominant physical force in the middle -- it changes an entire defense. This guy could be like TJ Watt only with a lot more range. He'd be very hard to block, great on blitzes. And middle means he doesn't have the coverage responsibilities which are so often the hardest thing for young LBers.

Guessing the big question is whether he can be brought up to speed reading college offenses and whether he has the discipline to stay in position. I don't think Arrington could have done this as a freshman -- he couldn't help chasing the ball so he took himself out of plays -- and teams definitely took advantage of that.

Also suspect some of this is just for Oweh's benefit. So Franklin can say he doesn't have a true DE in the class -- so Oweh knows there is plenty of room for him to come in and join the rotation as a freshman, like Gross-Matos did this year.

With Parsons experience at running back in high school, rushing for over 1,200 yards and scoring 29 offensive touchdowns this past season, Franklin said he thinks that can help him make a switch to linebacker.

"I always think the best linebackers played high school running back as well," Franklin said. "There's really a lot of similarities in terms of a running back hitting the hole — the instincts of knowing what hole to hit — and a linebacker knowing how to fit."

Joe made some pretty good QB's into great LB's.
