I noticed that football writer Paul Zimmerman passed away yesterday. He was a writer for the New York Post and Sports Illustrated until a series of strokes disabled him. I discovered him when I picked up his book The Thinking Man's Guide to Pro Football and could not put it down. He told a lot of great stories both personal and ones he heard. It's a really great read and if you come across it, pick it up and read it! One story that stood out was of a trainer for the football Giants who was a bit of a homer and eccentric. He told a story of when the Giants were playing a game and a player from the opposing team bit and seriously lacerated his tongue. He took the player aside on the sidelines and stitched his tongue........to the inside of his mouth!
