What I've read on other boards from people wanting this all to be true is a rationalization that the alleged victims testimony is credible, but that he just got the year wrong. And, they want logically thinking people to really believe that, too.

Just like that D.A. wanted people to believe that the Duke Lacrosse players were guilty, but THAT timeline was also just a case of somebody "getting the time wrong".
