What I’d like to know is why did he leave UM considering that their two starters from this past season are leaving. Other than that, that’s good because that’s one position at which we need more bodies for next season.

Could be lots of reasons--too far from home, didn't like it there, they didn't find the NIL money he wanted...

I know nothing about him, but I would have to assume that if a school like Michigan, which has a great tradition of d-linemen, recruited him, then he must have some ability.
I was going to bring up the same thing. New Jersey kid, would be nice to keep some more of those guys from going elsewhere.
Maybe he thought he'd get to know the plays the offense was running and realized it's harder to look good when his defense has to actually play by the rules.
Maybe his parents didn't like having to drive out to the slums of Detroit to watch him play. Or sit.
But actually, there seem to be a good many DT's ahead of him even with the two high draft choice DT's moving on after this season.

No crap, its been discussed since the last spring. We didn't have them, especially after KLS left for Auburn so whey does everyone act like it like breaking news for God's sake.
It's not breaking news--it's simply the only thing that actually matters. This is a nice pickup but if they don't spend money on a WR it's futile. Like you said, it's been an issue since last year--it's Franklin's job to address it.

It, in part, prevents us from meeting comparable teams. 0-3 against top 5 teams--not one of those games was a road game.

We are winning 24-17 with 3:50 to go. If the defense forces a punt and we run the clock out we go to the National Championship without Wideouts. I agree 100% the need, however, unless we get some depth at DT and get some DE's you could have elite wideouts and be losing games 42-35.
You keep extending the carrot. Two weeks ago you said it would be a success to get to he final four. If they won it all you would say they need to win two.
Did the lack of receivers stop you from expecting psu to win those games?

And I'm all for adding that depth. Happy with the add. The focus still is WR though for obvious reasons.
The season was a success...the narrative on Franklin remains and his failure to get a top WR in the portal last can't be ignored. I didn't expect to win any of the games we lost. That's the problem.
I've told you countless times I'd have fired Joe if he wasn't willing to resign and that he had way too many bad years. Franklin has the advantage of the portal. He has to get an elite WR in the next 2 weeks. Period. No excuses. Call agents. Make it happen.

We need depth at DT and Wafle was a four star who just finished his freshman year. Plus, his brother is a stud 2026 DE listed at 6’5” 240 so it’s a win win. It’s a great pickup and he has all four years left. The idea that we should ignore all other needs just to land a five star #1 WR is so naive. What 5 star WR is in the portal right now? None. We got two WRs, one a highly rated recruit that underperformed, and second that had great numbers in a lower school. That’s what in the portal.
