Penn State faculty fear the school will close campuses across the state

I have heard that applications are up for PSU this year and no doubt they playoff run helped - a friend works at Villanove in admissions and said after they won the tourney a few years ago applications doubled.

It is up at a lot of schools. It's an anomaly. Rutgers is up 90%

It is a covid bump. After covid a lot of kids tooka year or two off.

Long term educators expect the enrollment to drop. It is just demographics.

Slightly off topic, but here goes: when our daughter was looking at colleges, someone suggested Notre Dame. My wife, who dated a Domer before we met, said, ‘Why do we want to pay $200,000 for our daughter to get a drinking problem?’

This year also has the greatest number of HS graduates in history. After this year, the number of high school students steadily decreases in upcoming years.
