Penn State fans

...a simple solution...
...remove the seats from the top 2 rows in every upper section and designate the spaces as SRO...
...that should satisfy those who feel the need to always stand... and also those who expect the comfort of being able to sit on the seat they paid big bucks for - and still be able to view the game... :)
...not as uncomfortable as Syracuse’s Archbold Stadium way back in the 50’s - which had no seats but only concrete rows to sit on - take your pick... :)

I’ve been pretty disappointed in how the whole fan base has acted all December. The treatment of the team, the opportunity, the opposing team, the bowl, the win, and of other PSU fans. We can do better.

So many penn state people missed out on simply having fun cheering on PSU in the Cotton Bowl. I get there’s a lot of animosity toward the Big Ten, what the NCAA did to us, the BOT, and how they’ve shaped the perception of us...but sneering at all the good we just experienced is not getting revenge on them. It’s just souring the experience for those who want to enjoy watching this team.

I think things could have been a lot worse this year. If...the refs had fully stolen the Iowa game from us...Michigan's receiver caught that ball in the end zone...both games were moments away from taking our season down to what those original predictions said it would be (8-4/9-3).

I think the general pessimism that kind of stewed during December came from...

1. The Minnesota loss. Again, refs didn't make it an easier for us...but we caught a team that was playing the biggest game in decades (like Kentucky last year in the bowl! like Memphis last weekend in the bowl! see a trend here?), and sitting at #4, we were looking past them to Ohio State.

2. The Rutgers win. Losing to the Bucks at the Shoe stinks but was expected. But then following it up with a home sleepwalk against one of the worst teams in FBS. If we had followed up the OSU loss with a 63-10 drubbing, we would have felt a lot better about the layoff before the bowl.

3. The Big Ten propping up Wisconsin. Maybe we are conspiracy theorists here...but it stinks when every "political decision" goes OSU's way (Fields' eligibility, Young's perfectly timed suspension, outcry over bad calls--even from Big Ten officials publicly?!?!?!) and Wisconsin gets the Rose Bowl (Alvarez and his power).

And guys...I've been to Pasadena/LA and I've been to Dallas. Geez. Depressing. Jerry's World itself may have been a treat...but everything else in the comparison tipped towards the Rose.

Oh I enjoyed the game and was rooting for the Lions. Doesn’t mean they didn’t get hosed out of the Rose Bowl and were relegated to a no win game against Memphis.

I have been to Dallas, probably a dozen times or more, years ago. It was a fine city, nothing wrong with it, but as a general matter I do not go to cities for pleasure or vacation. I went to the Rose Bowl in 95, but that was because I had friends out there.

It is unlikely I will ever just roll up into a city where I know few to no people to watch a fb game I could see better on TV.

By my count, it's been three times in past past calendar year when we were someone's "biggest game in program history". The bowl game against Kentucky, @ Minnesota, and the bowl game against Memphis. I suppose it's good we're seen a program which other schools view as a standard of excellence. Otherwise, they wouldn't be getting all fired up to play us.

I do wonder though if Minnesota's newest "biggest game in program history" is the one they lost at Iowa the following week.

Hopefully, Jennifer is a bit smarter than Bobby o_O
Or . . . It's his middle name . . ie: Bobby Jo . . Billy Jo Jim Bob . . Bobby Jennifer ! Hell for that matter, maybe Sue is my middle name . . and . . I'm really BIG . . and . . and . . I like to paint my nails . . and . . wear women's underwear . . ohhhh no, . . now I've gone and said too much :eek::rolleyes::p

Before they beat us, they had no credibility. It was their chance for validation. And they got it...at home. Huge audience.

Iowa may have been more of a "rival" game...but when you go on the road against a 2-loss team, it's nothing like playing against an undefeated team on your home field.

And last point...the Wisconsin game in the finale MAY have rivaled their win over us, with a shot at the Big Ten West on the line. But again, at that point they already had validity and they got it THROUGH BEATING US. :(
