Football Penn State Football WR Harrison Wallace III Set To Enter Transfer Portal

I think a little respect is warranted. These kids have busted their asses. They deserve more than that, along the lines of good luck and Godspeed, or something reflecting appreciation for their doing what they could, presumably to the best of their ability.
Good luck to them all but it's best for everyone, including them, if they move on

I'm not going to pretend Wallace played well here or we're going to miss him. I hope he enjoys the rest of his career wherever that is. I think he'll get some decent looks.

The room needs cleared. That doesn't mean they aren't good kids...just got good enough at their position to warrant playing time.

For those people shitting on the kid, take a look at the transfer portal available WRs and tell me who you think is coming in here that will be better.

Only a few teams are still eligible to have portal entries (until the spring window). And we're not getting any of Ohio State's or Texas's WRs.

We are facing a WR debacle next year absent some big developments.

Now, if the plan is to go full 2023 Michigan and just run the ball -- I'm good with that. But there's no way Franklin goes for that.

I agree most of this room needed to be cleared, but Wallace would have been a good 3rd or 4th for depth at minimum, this doesn't seem like good news to me. Saunders is certainly next.

No one is "shitting on the kid"...we all know he wasn't good enough. I blame his coach more than him. Hopefully they're calling agents of kids not in the portal like Belichick is doing.

But does he stay to be depth
I'm sure he that wanted assurances regarding playing time to stay
He hasn't earned that despite being the only serviceable on last year.

Like who? Jeremiah Smith? Ryan Wingo? Forget it. The portal window has closed for most other teams. Will have to wait for the spring.

Anyone that's capable of running routes or catching a contested ball...
Everyone can come here during the spring window like you said...that's plenty of time of an experienced player to learn a vertical offense

And we're not getting any of Ohio State's or Texas's WRs.

For the record, only one OSU WR has left and even gone on to be a productive type we need (Jameson Williams). The rest all drifted off to new programs with "he came from OSU, he has to be good" hype and mostly failed to bring much.

One such example is Fleming, who I think we brought in just as much for future Pennsylvania HS recruiting as anything.

Texas, can't much say as I don't follow them closely enough to comment.

Needless to say:
-Egbuka is turning pro
-Smith will cost a blue-zillion $ if he did hit the portal
-Tate isn't likely to leave
-none of the others have enough info on them to think they could do anything

Loado show some respect? lol....

Has a transfer WR in the spring portal window ever produced in his first season? Honestly want to know, because I’m doubting it is possible to learn an offense that quickly in summer practice and produce right away.

Anyone other than Lando ever think the QB is as much to blame as the WR? Lose faith that you wil ever see the ball from the QB. QB is hesitant to throw to those players he has confidence in? I mean how does Fleming come in with far more catches at OSU than targets from the PSU QB? (just waiting for someone to say all that OSU talent at WR had eyes elsewhere and allowed Fleming to get open). Are these WR leaving because they are being pushed out, or on their own? Did Fleming all of a sudden just drop off, or is there more at play here?

We want to blame Franklin, the WR coach, the coordinator and the WR corps. The elephant in the room is Drew Allar and his inconsistencies and tendencies to continually check down or only throw to Warren who he has confidence in. I have to believe the whole WR corps was not in synch or had any chemistry or trust. WR corps is tagged with the blame, but we had the same QB too, who as we saw with our eyes, has his own issues.

Just saying it cuts both ways and in spite of what a certain poster on here wants you try and convince everyone, Drew is not all that - at least not yet.

Quinton Martin could get moved to slot WR and still get some carries in the backfield. He was a stud in HS at Belle Vernon in a pretty good conference (the WPIAL) and he played all over the field. I can see him being moved to the slot in sort of a “slot back” role. Tyseer Demarks role is going to expand BIG TIME in 2025, and he now has a great opportunity to start alongside Kyren Hudson.

KLS transferred in the spring and led Auburn in receiving (50 rec, 981 yards, 8 TDs).

This is 100 percent he was told to move on....

And Good. He is not physical enough to beat man coverage, or fight for the ball, and he regularly quits on routes.

We don't need one single receiver on next year's two deep that was a part of zero catches for zero yards.

Not happy about this. At the very least he’d have been in the rotation and I think it’s (sadly) quite possible that he’s the current best WR on the team including the portal transfers.

I was hoping/expecting he’d be back. Now I don’t know who the heck is staying. Sure we had to clear out the WR room but it doesn’t mean everyone

Watch them drop every contested ball
Watch them never create separation against man
Watch the film
It's not what I want...it's all there for you. Or listen to the other Landon if you can't accept what I'm telling you

How are all these portal entries possible? I was told by Beau Pribula that you needed to do it before the playoffs started. *sarcasm

But he wasn't going to stay to be in a rotation. No one does in this era. He wants and needs targets. He wasn't guaranteed that here so he's gone. Best of luck to him.

This one hurts, Penn State has now lost its top three receivers from a very weak room. The most productive receiver left right now is Clifford. Hopefully this means they are working on some very big things. Because it’s needed even more now.

Break down that performance and when he had catches. Start looking a non conference games then Arkansas. Then look at the others...almost all when they were trailing. Data means nothing without analysis.

Lol...right?
Beau lied. We all knew it then. Just ridiculous by him and those still defending him.

Franklin explained it to you. Try reading. A typical play has a 3 WR set, and WR's will rotate. There is only one QB. You should listen to what coach Franklin says.

Yeah, this one isn't good news.

The WRs took an unnecessarily harsh beating this year from the peanut gallery. The route trees sucked and Allar often times (especially as the season wore on) was late to process and identify who was open, who wasn't, and when. Wallace is a plus contributor on a top program that knows how to utilize their WRs properly - he's not a liability.

I hate the portal as much as the next CFB semi-purist, but for those of you concerned like Franklin and/or staff and team are blind-sided by this, I think that’s a bit naive. I suspect on the inside they either feel like this has zero impact whatsoever, and who could blame them when the receivers aren’t catching passes in the biggest game of the year or they have a plan B that they feel will be better than the horrible production we’ve seen the past few years. I’m not saying they’ll be right but I think they are much less surprised or concerned than many here seem to be.

He didn't. He used the situation to try to push his agenda. Carson Beck proved it wrong.

OSU only has 4 WRs with more than 5 catches. Their entire room is 4 and 5 stars.
