Football Penn State Football WR Harrison Wallace III Set To Enter Transfer Portal

He wouldn't have played more than 3-5 snaps. The offense scored enough to win. He made his decision and couldn't own it. No one on that team wanted him there.
And that’s fine, as we only needed a couple change of paces in that game to break it wide open. And how do you know no one wanted him there?

This is 100 percent he was told to move on....

And Good. He is not physical enough to beat man coverage, or fight for the ball, and he regularly quits on routes.

We don't need one single receiver on next year's two deep that was a part of zero catches for zero yards.
-3 yards.

I believe someone will surprise and emerge as a top target. I’m not concerned.
So right now it looks like the competition for WR PT will be between HUDSON, ROSS, DENMARK, GONZALEZ, BROWN the incoming Freshman, and maybe CLIFFORD and SAUNDERS if they don't portal.
If there are no more experienced/productive portal WRs in then the gauntlet is thrown down for Hagans, Koltenicki, and Allar to fix this. All three have to do better.

Break the game wide open? How often did he do that?
All they had to do was give Warren another snap or two at QB--see his success
Beau was irrelevant all year other than Wisconsin--which was a game we should have been up huge if Fleming had decent hands

OSU only has 4 WRs with more than 5 catches. Their entire room is 4 and 5 stars.

Because Hartline rides his best players, and by the time the others get snaps, it's garbage time and OSU is running the ball. LOL. It's not hard.

I'd take Mylan Graham or Brandon Inniss in a heartbeat. Inniss will probably be starting for them next year, but Graham is the kind of talent that if he doesn't crack the rotation, he'll probably transfer.

He didn't. He used the situation to try to push his agenda. Carson Beck proved it wrong.

He did. Absolutely did.

You can dream up and fictional account you like, but Franklin absolutely, positively noted that there is one starting QB per team.

Carson Beck is a starter. Moot point.

If somebody was close to emerging I assume they would have played this year.

The only possibilities I can think of are Denmark and Martin in the slot. I can't see either being #1 next year.

Wallace struggled to catch balls in traffic but he was still good for 700 yds.

I think a little respect is warranted. These kids have busted their asses. They deserve more than that, along the lines of good luck and Godspeed, or something reflecting appreciation for their doing what they could, presumably to the best of their ability.
Well said!!!

We know there's one starting QB on each team--that doesn't alter he could have gotten the role later. Beck isn't moot. Nor is anyone else that did it. Beau did what was best for him--the NCAA's deadline had zero impact on it--no one would say a negative word if he owned it but, again, he's a coward. Good luck Mizzou.

For those people shitting on the kid, take a look at the transfer portal available WRs and tell me who you think is coming in here that will be better.

Only a few teams are still eligible to have portal entries (until the spring window). And we're not getting any of Ohio State's or Texas's WRs.

We are facing a WR debacle next year absent some big developments.

Now, if the plan is to go full 2023 Michigan and just run the ball -- I'm good with that. But there's no way Franklin goes for that.
Did it ever occur to you that the staff might know more about the WRs still on the roster than posters on here?

I just did that exercise myself.

Clifford is the veteran from 2021.
Saunders and Ivey from 2022.
No one from 2023.
Denmark, Gonzalez and Brown from 2024
Four true freshman from 2025 with Howard being a 4 star.

Then add Ross and Hudson.......

Someone needs to step up....

Franklin explained it to you. Try reading. A typical play has a 3 WR set, and WR's will rotate. There is only one QB. You should listen to what coach Franklin says.
You don't even need to listen to Franklin. All you need to do is pay attention during the game and read the game stats. It's all pretty obvious.

He did. You lose again.

“I can give you my word, Beau Pribula did not want to leave our program. He did not want to leave our program until the end of the season. But the way the portal is, the timing of it, the way our team is playing, and when you play the position of quarterback and there’s only one spot and those spots are filling up, he felt like he was put in a no-win situation, and I agree with him.

His word means nothing. "He felt like he was put in a no-win situation"--he wasn't--he just FELT that way because of his emotion about Allar staying. Again, Franklin used this for his own agenda

I don't know why you want to talk about Beau in every thread--actually I do know why

Imagine the pressure that Franklin feels right now to land another portal WR that’s at least somewhat competent (there does not appear to be any ‘elite’ portal WR’s left) and a solid middle LB. I know he makes a ton of money, but man head coach is a tough job now. It literally never ends in college. At least NFL there’s a break and you’re not kissing the asses of entitled kids 24/7 365.

Yeah, not happy at all about Tre leaving

Post 31 Loado. You hoped right on the Beau train... as always, any chance you get. I didn't mention Beau prior.
I win. Loado loses. You really ought to stick to the facts.
Post 31 was me responding to mydome where he mentions Beau--I said, you want to talk about him in every thread which is true
Notice you didn't respond to him--just me
I know you can't read--we've established that

I don’t think this is a big deal. Let’s say that next year has a nearly similar breakdown with pass and run plays since we have both singleton and Allen coming back. if you take away the 100 catches from Warren and distribute them to other people how many more catches with the number one or number two receiver actually have here?
Whether it’s Reynolds or someone else, the tight ends are going to get their fair share of passes though not 100. What does that mean, 50 extra passes to wide receivers? How many of those are actually gonna go to Wallace, 25? I’m pretty sure that the two guys they got out of the portal already will be able to give us at least the same production as Wallace and Evans have this year.

Because they play their best guys all game. Look at their snap count. They don't care if guys leave. WRs fight to go there.

Who did they develop? Tht play 5* and borderline 5*.

Who couldn't coach Harrison, smith, egbuka, and next year Chris Henry.

You aren't exactly going out in a limb taking innis. He was a 98 on 247.

Do you think OSU is doing a better job coaching jeremiah smith than mylan graham or was smith simply a better recruit?

You are correct. It is no big deal. The WR room needed a good clearing out. It’s at least one year late in my opinion. Franklin gambled in hoping the core WRs would be good enough for 2024. He bet wrong. The Notre Dame game results (zero WR receptions) was the final straw. There was no way Penn State could bring back the majority core WR group for another season. Time to move forward.

I hope you’re right but I thought Tre was good enough to be on the roster
