I had a business conference in Disney World last week. My family came down on Friday for a four day weekend to enjoy the parks. My son is 14 and a huge Penn State fan. In four days, we saw more Penn State attire than any other universities combined. About half of the other teams represented were from the BIG, which we found interesting. BTW, my son wore Penn State shirts the entire trip.
As we were entering EPCOT on Saturday, we heard the security guard ask the man in front of us " Is that a football team?" I looked and realized he was wearing a Pitt Panthers Sweatshirt. I was a little confused by this comment, but thought nothing more of it. I went through security and met my son a few minutes later. As we walked into the park he told me that the security guard said to him " We are!!" It was then that I realized that his comment to the man in front of me was a dig at Pitt.
I heard mamy times through the weekend, " We are", and responded appropriately. I was impressed by our representation as well as the dig at little brother.
