PENN STATE LAUNCHES ITS SAQUON BARKLEY HEISMAN CAMPAIGN WEBSITE

Sorry - meant Penn State.

I'm pretty sure Penn State hasn't done a campaign like this before. While Penn State has always been about the team, I don't mind seeing the school promote Saquon. He's the epitome of a Penn State player. Let the nation get to know him. He's unselfish, so it's like the program is being promoted anyway.

It wasn't clear in your previous post that you were referring to Penn State.

Correct. Thank you Bob. Wasn't clear you were referring to us. WE Have not. But that was long one of the criticisms of Joe and Penn State, that we were willing to play the PR game... Like for example, MRobs Sr Yr. But other Universities most certainly have.

In the context I was using 'the school' (as opposed to 'a school') I thought it would be understood that it was Penn State. My bad bros.

Ok - who did we do a Heisman campaign for before? Would love to see the ads or website.
I don't know if it was a website, but there was definitely a push for Larry Johnson to get it late in 2002.

The Heisman is really stupid, to be honest; nice if Barkley gets it but who cares if he doesn't?

People (like me) care because it's the most iconic individual award for amateur sports in the US, maybe you could argue gold medal... I don't agree with the unofficial criteria that voters use (best player on best team, heisman moment, etc.) but if the have this award for CFB, then I want Penn State guys to win it.

I don't recall any university sponsored effort to push LJ for Heisman, though he was certainly worthy.

I know this is not going to be popular but so be it

This is exactly why I hate the Heisman. The whole thing breaks down into politics and PR

Yeah but we’ve got a coach that politics and pr are his wheel house. That’s why he’s a good recruiter. Everybody’s got nice facilities, passionate fans, a valuable degree, etc. It the sales pitch that makes the difference.
