Basketball Penn State selected as 10 seed will take on Texas A&M on Thursday

Why is A&M's NET 18 when they have losses to:
Murray St NET 213
Wofford NET 225
???

I don't get that. They've lost to a couple of absolutely terrible teams. Yes, they beat Alabama once but just lost to them by 19. How does that negate their absolutely horrible losses?
Lots of blowout wins. It’s in line with their other predictive metrics (25th in Pomeroy, 16th in Torvik).

It’s where those bad losses hurt them (as Rutgers found out).

The bracketmatrix did have them as a 6…but another team where their strong week didn’t help them too much.
seems like they should've been a 4

could have switched them with indiana

It's like PSU didn't play the last 4 games. PSU beat 3 quad 1 teams and then played a #1 seed even basically in an away game. If the last week was counted PSU would be an 8 at worst.

There are teams seeded above PSU that don't have 3 quad 1 wins total, for their season.

Would be great to see PSU win a couple more games. But they made the tournament and if that's where the season ends AND they keep Coach Shrew I'll still be estatic. :)

it is like they hate the big ten other than purdue and indiana

I'd like to know if they had their minds made up before today's game.

If Lundy doesn't foul out and hits a long 3 to beat Purdue would Purdue still be a #1 and PSU still be a #10? Today's games, and all of the conference tournament games, are a big indication of how a team is ready to play in the NCAA tournament and should have an real impact on the NCAA seeding. But it doesn't seem to........

I don't know. it seems like they didn't do a really good job this year.
but who knows. We were in the 7-10 range no matter what and it's not like we would have gotten a much easier game. Very glad they did not give us another B1G team in the 1st round (that would have been really bad seeding).

I hope we can get through A&M because I'd love to see what we can do against Texas (assuming Colgate doesn't surprise them)

Whatever happens, the attention over the last week plus the tournament bid are going to be really positive for recruiting. This program may finally be getting over the hump, after trying for several decades

If the tournament didn't count we'd have been out like Rutgers

Today’s game meant nothing to either team (other than winning a championship).

Two of Lundy's fouls were bad foul calls. One was when he was driving and should have been called on the Purdue player who blocked his path, was not set, and Lundy never initiated the contact. The other was the one he fouled out on that the announcers even said was chintzy.

Well, that too...Texas A&M is a good matchup, whereas Texas presents the same problem that Purdue presents.
Not thrilled that we drew A&M, but there are no good options. I think A&M is probably less thrilled that they drew us since they got shafted on seeding.

Starting backcourt is 6' and 6'2", and they don't have a rim protector. They are athletic, attack defenses, are balanced, etc. But it's a dream matchup for Pickett.

seems like we have a good shot. we need to get in control of the game like we did in most of the 2nd half vs Indiana
