Announcers are full of shit - receiver ALWAYS has a right to go for the ball regardless whether he has to go through the Defender, or not. He's got the OPI and DPI rules bass ackwards - it is the Offensive Player who ALWAYS has a right to pursue ball regardless if he has to go through Defensive Player - it is Defensive Player that is prohibited from going through Offensive Player to make play on ball.
