Football Penn State smothers Boise State, Jeanty en route to 31-14 quarterfinals win

He ran all over Oregon.

Now, put him behind OSU’s line, with OSU’s weapons around him … he’s going to be super-special … and not in a Lando/Kaspairitis way.
We ran all over Oregon. With OSU he would be running against better defenses. Guys who dominate the MAC don’t usually dominate anyone else. If he played at a P4 school, he would be a good back, but not necessarily great.

It’s like people laughing at him are totally ignoring Saquon’s historic year this year. That kid had an equivalent game to some of Saquon’s Giants game when he’d be tattooed in the backfield every other carry. Those were 102-3 really tough effin yards tonight. I’d take him on my team any day

I'm drafting him in fantasy next year if they don't rate him too high out the gate. They had Harrison Jr at 14/15 range, which was super high for a rookie. Kid is really good.

Ehh - kid is tough. Hard to break free when everyone is keying on you. Ask Saquon about some of his years with the Giants.
But Saquon was doing it against other professional defenses…Jeanty was doing it against lower D-1 schools all year minus one game. He’s the world’s tallest midget. He might be good in the NFL, but I would not be surprised if he did nothing.

It’s always nice to know that even when we win 31-14, we have posters on here that are the worst fans ever. Consistency is nice.

What constitutes the "worst fans ever?"

Some of us would like to beat a team that we are not expected to beat. To get that done things have to be "cleaned up," to use Franklin-speak. We will need to play and coach BETTER than what we showed this evening. We will have to be smarter.

Some of us don't want to see thug-like behavior from someone in a Penn State uniform. Read through this thread. It was obvious long before the flags got thrown. The penalties were inevitable. If it was obvious to us why was it not obvious to our coaches?

Now you can lower your standards all you want like so many in our society if that's what it takes for you to feel good. You can call yourself a true "fan." On the other hand, some of us want to see improvement/growth. We'd like to see a Penn State team finish with a championship, and do it with class.

13-2 and people are bitching. Winning 31-14 and people are bitching. Show me any Penn State team in history that played a perfect game every game. We’re 15 games into the season, how much improvement do you think there’s going to be? Every team has their weaknesses, even undefeated teams.

Allen -17 carries
Nick - 12 carries
Allar -11 carries

Cut the crap AK. Let me clue you in, Drew is not Jalen Hurts.

As an aside, I think Riddick does a solid job as the color commentator
Sacks count as carries, so it's not really that many "carries", and without rewatching there are likely at least another "carry" or two that were attempted escapes from the rush. Boise did a great job with their pass rush and it will be hard for PSU to beat a better team in the next round with similar pass protection by the PSU OL.

So you just close your eyes to "weaknesses?"

You must have been such a great coach. Nothing ever had to be improved because no game could ever be perfect.

You work on them and try to minimize them, but things still go wrong every week. I’m quite sure they work on minimizing penalties every week, yet some weeks they still have too many. They did a great job on Jeanty tonight, but the pass defense wasn’t great. Maybe next week their pass defense will be lights out but they will be poor against the run. Every game is different.

LOL. He’d be facing better defenses, but behind a much better line and with much better offensive options keeping defenses honest.

He’s going to be a first round back, and that’s not because he’s a good back facing MAC level teams - it’s because of his physical tools.

He’s a beast. He’s been dealing with getting blown up at or behind the line all year because of a crappy o-line and everyone keying in on him. And he still picked up outrageous amounts of yardage. Because he’s got power, speed and incredible balance.

He did little against us because we just destroyed their o-line and never gave him the opportunity to get going. That’s a one-off, not a condemnation of his skills.

How about play tough, play smart, respect your opponent, and play like those who came before you - with dignity.

How about developing a sound strategy on offense. Getting 8.4 yards per carry? Stick with that? No! Run Allar on broken plays and throw silly and inaccurate passes all over the field.

Boise was s-o-f-t ~ Minnesota.

You were the first to post this….not the last, but at least you were first.😂
At the time, things were turning a bit sour for Penn State. Fortunately they kept the ship from hitting the shoals.

If Penn State does win the natty, they are going to run the gauntlet. Georgia and Notre Dame are both solid, and Ohio State we know will be tough - assuming they dismantle Texas like they did Oregon.

This was the funniest post in the game thread. I think we were up 14-7 at the time
Most of the people who posted in this thread should be wearing strait jackets during games. It’s like a contest to see who can make the most sky-is-falling post.

There's a reason I watch most Penn State games alone, and it's not because my family requests it. They're wonderful people, and I love them too much to subject them to me when I'm unhappy with how my Nittany Lions are playing. I'm stone-cold nuts watching the games, and there isn't a negative assessment of the team, the program, or the state of Pennsylvania that I haven't made while watching. My only defense: I'm well aware of my insanity and I'm not crazy enough to type anything while I'm in that state.
