Football Penn State smothers Boise State, Jeanty en route to 31-14 quarterfinals win

For what it's worth. Carter not using his left arm holding the trophy

He's been favoring it since they first showed him out. Considering he didn't take his pads off and come back from the locker room in a sling, I think we might be ok and dodged the injury bug.

Yes, defense and the RUN GAME can take us to the promise land. However, DDS needs to be running his ass off at practice. Dirty dirty he is.

I am not convinced of this at all. Our running game effectiveness will depend entirely on what we see for an opposing defensive line. Think back to the OSU game. Compare that to the Oregon game.

I think we will see something closer to the OSU game.

AK will have to come up with a better passing attack. Expecting Warren to carry the load isn't going to work. It didn't work against OSU and it won't work against ND/Georgia.

If I was the coach I would be finding ways to get Singleton, Dinkins, and Reynolds involved in a short passing attack. Man-to-man coverage down field tends to shut us down. Allar should always have an outlet. He needs to work at dumping the ball off.

On defense I would rarely play zone. We just don't know how to match up. It almost looks like we don't even try.

I'm sure if it was bad, he would be in street clothes or getting checked out further. As I said earlier, he was wincing when the staff was adjusting his sleeve on that arm.

AK loves the vertical passing game--we won't get away too much from that though, I agree, I'd love to see more of Singleton and Reynolds underneath. 6-8 deep balls to Evans can't be the plan against ND or UGa

I don't disagree. The biggest issue I see is that we don't seem to stick with what works on offense, and we appear hesitant to play straight man coverage on defense. That approach could have worked particularly well in this game.

Team is playing on house money from here on out. Likely to be an underdog in the next game.

Great to beat the teams that they were favored to beat, and I'm not downplaying the wins at all. Great for Franklin.

Just hope Carter and some others can recover so the team has their best players for the next game. Very nice for Wheatley, the turnover king tonight. Vanover played a great game as well, especially with Carter out and having to play probably more snaps than he has ever done while at PSU.....

I want to beat the SEC, but a better chance to win playing the Domers.
I want to beat the SEC too
I don't know who we have a better chance against--ND's defense might be better and they have more experience at QB plus an elite running game. I'd prefer the untested QB and a Georgia offense that's been a mess all year

No grunk package at least.

So do we want UGA or the Domers?

I think UGA is the most physical matchup, but they have the least experienced QB.

ND has a back that's not far off from Jeanty's level, but a better OL. Their QB has a ton of experience and will run 10+ times and move the chains.

I'd have to lean ND, simply because I think we can move the ball on them better.

Reynolds looks good. 2 early catches but I don't recall another target.

No passes to Singleton is a mystery.

Did Fleming and Clifford even suit up?

We most likely are playing Texas for the trophy, either Georgia or Notre Dame are payback games for Coach Franklin, and tOSU and OSU will cancel each other out,and we will never see them. We got nice seeding.

ND is a better passing team which we seem to have more trouble with. And I think ND’s QB is more mobile, so GA may be a better match up for us defensively.

I don't think ND is a super strong passing team. Maybe advantage to them with Beck out, but Leonard has 700+ rush yards on nearly the same amount of rushing attempts as Love. His throwing is similar to Madsen.

UGA is just so physical. I think scoring on them could be tough. They will generate pressure with 5 players comparable to what Boise did with 6 and 7.

It's kind of a coin flip situation.

That ND defense is tough too
Either way it's likely a 21-13 type game

Texas won’t stand a chance against either OSU or Oregon. Assuming we have our DEs back, it’ll be us v. another Big 10 squad.

He ran all over Oregon.

Now, put him behind OSU’s line, with OSU’s weapons around him … he’s going to be super-special … and not in a Lando/Kaspairitis way.
It’s like people laughing at him are totally ignoring Saquon’s historic year this year. That kid had an equivalent game to some of Saquon’s Giants game when he’d be tattooed in the backfield every other carry. Those were 102-3 really tough effin yards tonight. I’d take him on my team any day
